Wanted: Sleeper RV For Youth Camps
 

Our Boy's Bible Camp RV's and vans are getting long in the tooth. The RV's have stains that are starting to smell and the vans have suspension problems after years of abuse with the boys. We've got a record-breaking attendance predicted for this year's "Warm Up To Christ" winter trip. All of our heaters have been broken or disabled, so obviously we'll need to figure out other ways to stay warm through the night, but that's all part of the survival lessons the boys need to be taught.

This year, we're just asking for donations of any brand new vans (windowless/private, white preferred) or brand new RV's (preferably rear-pushers with jumbo showers) that anyone might have laying around. We're also looking for a new penalty bus for the naughty boys. Any regular school bus with blacked out windows and disabled emergency exits will do. No tracking devices please. We'll need them in time to install the punishment equipment for the next retreat, so please let us know ASAP.

Would you be willing to accept a gently-used church bus?

We made the mistake of renting it out to a Korean church (their magnetic sign is still on the side), and it suffered a few nicks and scratches as they drove through the woods. But if you can tow it out, it's all yours!

Boy oh boy! What a wonderful blessing! We won't need a tow truck. With a few whispered words, I can motivate even the tallest boys in my youth group to endure physical hardship that would cause most grown men to cry out in agony. Praise God!

I noticed some surplus bus things being moved from a tour firm the other evening. It's ceased trading or something they said when I asked them. I don't know whether they'd be suited to your requirements?

You know me too well! Not only does the color blue fill me with youthful excitement, I just adore Mercedes! They're my favorite American controlled luxury vehicle maker. I will be in contact to discuss having them replace the windows with sturdy and sound absorbant plywood!

If you can't find an RV, you might want to consider a railroad box car. There is no thrill in the world like when a railroad box car rolls up, the people are loaded out of the car, and they're marched into the camp.

How the Lord works in mysterious ways! I just recently moved into a nice 3 bedroom apartment for my bride to be and myself (as well as the first of many, many sons she will bear me) and my RV is no longer needed. Bear in mind, I used this prior to becoming a forum member so you may want to tweak it some what but it is yousr for the low low cost of nothing!
