Brothers and sisters in Christ, did you have any idea that a section of the State of Iowa, World Headquarters of God's Favorite Church, has been taken over by cow-worshipping hippie satanists? They have occupied an entire corner of our state! They even named it after their satanic leader. I'm thinking the boys down at the DOF have been a bit lax ever since those demoncrats stole the last elections....:glare:

MAHARISHI VEDIC CITY, Iowa - Meditator Stephen Cardinal believes this blip of a city in southeast Iowa could soon alleviate world strife.

Since the city's founding in 2001, hundreds of Transcendental Meditation practitioners have meditated in unison, sending what they say is a wave of positivity across the globe. In the coming weeks, nearly 2,000 meditators from around the world will gather here to bolster the wave in a mass meditation.

"The solutions of our forefathers haven't worked," said Cardinal, 25, who attends a TM university in nearby Fairfield.

The practitioners will meditate in this city as well as in Fairfield. Workers are busy building homes for 500 meditators on fields where sunflowers once stood. A short walk leads to a colony where meditators stay in white houses with gold-colored roofs, topped with onion-shaped domes.

"I do believe that this influence is true and that it is a technology that is valuable," said Ed Malloy, the Fairfield mayor and a TM practitioner.

TM practitioners follow the precepts of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, the TM founder and a one-time spiritual teacher to the Beatles.

Once the 2,000 meditators are in place for the assembly called Invincible America, Hagelin predicts the Dow will surge toward 15,000, oil prices will fall below $45 a barrel, the U.S. crime rate will drop 20 percent and tensions in North Korea and Iran will be resolved peacefully.

Violence in Iraq will also dramatically decline, said Hagelin, a former Natural Law Party presidential candidate.

"We're clearly on the threshold of a global transformation," said Hagelin, a quantum physics researcher educated at Harvard and Dartmouth.

The TM experts, called pandits, are men aged 20 to 30 who have studied with the Maharishi for years, learning chants and other practices of Vedic tradition from ancient India. The movement claims 6 million practitioners since it was introduced about 50 years ago.

The Maharishi claims the men are adept at the art of "yogic flying," a deep level of consciousness that causes the practitioner to hop into the air involuntarily. He says the meditators tap into a unified field of consciousness that affects society.

The pandits travel to Iowa with their own chefs who prepare specialized organic vegetarian meals. Their 700-square-foot (65-square-meter), two-bedroom manufactured homes, which are now being delivered, will meet Vedic specifications. They will face east in alignment with the sun.

A TM supporter's private foundation has kicked in $12 million for the assembly. The money provides as much as $600 a month to cover expenses for each participant willing to relocate to southeastern Iowa.

The pandits will rarely leave the largely closed community and will return to India after two years, then be replaced by a new group, said Maharishi Vedic City Mayor Bob Wynne.

Well I don't know about you, but I'm thinking this will be a very tempting target for Jesus. What with them all gathered in one place, and rarely leaving their satanic inner sanctums.:thumbsup:

Zekey, last I remember, 'yogi' and 'satanist' had two very different meanings. None of this is anything to do with satanism of any kind. Yes, yes, don't start I know that you believe these people are 'worshipping the devil by default', but would you lay those thoughts aside for one minute and see these people are peaceful and do not seek to hurt or annoy anybody?

Ok, I know that telling you that they do not worship your devil is pointless as you believe that in not worshipping your god they are thus 'default satanists', so I will try a different line of reasoning.
Are they trying to convert you, and get you to do the same as them? Are they forcing people to convert? Are they hurting or causing damage to property or life?

They're trying to lower oil prices. That will disrupt the world economy, and make it harder for oilmen to make an extra few billion.

They want to reduce violence in Iraq. That will suck funds away from the military-industrial complex, a major employment sector of the US economy.

Finally, they want to reduce crime by 20%! Do you know what that will do to the prison industry, not to mention police forces and their ability to pay pensions for retired cops?

These people are doing their damnedest to destroy the American economy, that's what they're doing. I wouldn't expect a pine cone-throwing tree-hugger like you, MRS. Van Hellbound, to recognize it, but I'm surprised that the True Christian ™ brethren and even sistren here haven't caught on to just what these foreigners are doing.

Let us consider things logically here, even though at this level of belief, it is doubtful if my logic will even be read, I have no decision left to me but to try.

First, Yogi's are originally a part of the Hindu religion. Hindu originated before Christianity did, and has no ties to pre-Christian Judaic teachings, so the argument that they are doing Satan's work is flawed. Also, In America, less then 2% of modern Yogi belong to the Hindu religion, rather than reality, where most are part of the New Age Movement, and are not "dotheads" "diaper heads" or "Negro Bucks". Most are Caucasian, males AND females.

Secondly, Yogi's are not hippies, hippie wannabes, or anything of the sort. They believe in the natural energies of the body and nature, and meditate on a source of goodwill. THEY DO NOT HOLD ORGIES.

Thirdly, there are REAL satanic cults all around, of which you make no mention at all. also, OnYourKnees, your entire logical process used on "Yogi Bear" is racist, uncivilized, and based ON A CHILDREN'S TELEVISION SHOW! that is akin to me trying to argue for god's existence by citing the Jetsons.

Please tell me you all are single, because it would be a waste to poison a young child's mind with such garbage. Honestly, i'd trust my child in the hands of a Satanist before i'd ever allow it's mind to be degraded by the likes of most of the people here. The Christian God created the heavens and the earth (Gen 1:1). The Hindu gods were made up millennia later. Those who worship idols, like the Hindus, are in fact worshipping demons.
