Book of Handwritten Poetry in Goodwill

You know those blank books you can buy to use as a journal or whatever? I was in Goodwill looking for an attractive lamp and I browsed the book section. It must have been the Lord leading me there, because I discovered a book of handwritten poetry. To say that the poems are inspired is just not giving them proper credit. I would like to share a few of them with the congregation here.

On the front cover, it has a name and a date of birth that makes this poet about 17 years old. I can't for the life of me figure out why someone would get rid of these. Anyway, the first one is called "God's Love."

GOD'S LOVE
God's love is so wonderful
It means the world to me
His love is always touching
And always tenderly
He loves me with His Bible
It is a two edged sword
There is really nothing like
Being loved by the Lord.

The next one is called "God's Promises."

GOD'S PROMISES
God's promises are so amazing
They mean a lot to me
He promises to be faithful
And I've found He's that to thee.
He promises to take me
To His home on high
I know that this is true because
On His promises I rely.

Yet another is this one, a unique verse called "God's Jesus."

GOD'S JESUS
God's Jesus is so wonderful
He means the world to me
Jesus died on Cavalry to set my spirit free
His Father up in Heaven sent him down to earth
And proved that there can be such thing
As a virgin birth
His purpose was to save us from our lives of sin and woe
God's Jesus did all that and more and now I love Him so.

GOD'S ANGELS
God's angels are so beautiful
They mean so much to me
Their wings are spreading everywhere
To protect God's people like me
They fly from here to over there
And watch over us each day
They hear us when we're crying and they love to hear us pray
An angel told God's mother that she soon would be with child
With love and peace and mercy
It was a mercy mild.

GOD'S MERCY
God's mercy is so merciful
It means so much to me
Without His mercy I'd be doomed
To Hell for eternity
But mercy sent Him to the cross
To die for me that day
And now His merciful blessings
Follow me every step of the way.

GOD'S FACE
God's face is full of grace
He smiles upon me now
I love His face so bountiful
He never lets me down.
When I can't bear to see
All the sin in the world below
I look at God's face and then I'm calm
And blessed while here below.

There are pages more, but I'll share those another time.

Dear Brother in Christ,

Although these sound quite lovely, we need to be wary of anything purchased in a second hand store. They often carry demons! You must always pray over any items you buy from such places.

Just a few more inspirational poems from this genius daughter of Christ:

GOD'S PROTECTION

God's protection is so loving
It's all the world to me
He protects me in the morning
And also when I sleep
God's protection never fails us
We never have to worry
He protects us when we're busy
Or in a terrible hurry.
So relax in God's protection
It will calm you when you're scared
His hand is always on you
And we need not ever be scared.

GOD'S WRATH
God's wrath is so terrible
It scares me to think of what I'd see
If I looked around and saw it
God's wrath coming down toward me
I would trust in Jesus Christ
And pray that God would smile
And calm His angry madness
If only for a while
But when you're in Christ Jesus
There is no need to fear
For Christ will always shield us
When God's great wrath is near.

GOD'S UNDERSTANDING
God's understanding always helps us
It means the world to me
His understanding keeps me calm
I shout the victory
My mind may not be as broad as His
But one thing I can say
God's understanding will follow me
Until that bright, shining day.

GOD'S FRIENDSHIP
God's friendship is so loving
It's everything I need
I don't need friends on earth below
Since Jesus befriended me
He listens when I need Him
Unlike those here on earth
He came to be my friend for ever
Through Mary's virgin birth
So if you need a friend,
I hope on Him you'll call
He's better than any human friend
He's the best friend of them all.

Oh Brother, these are BEAUTIFUL! They are so Inspirational! They remind me of my favorite painting, a visual image of the sentiment these poems reflect - the Love of the Lord pouring all over me!

Inspired by the young poetess whose work I shared with you, I was given the following by the Holy Spirit moments ago. While I do not have the talent of that woman, (and who could?), I trust this will bless you and lead you to a deeper walk with Christ.

Young Peter
by BrotherLarry

Young Peter is so wonderful
He means the world to me
I will be His brother in Jesus
For all eternity
I love to play with Peter,
Be it Tetris or Bingo or Tag.
He wins all the time - but graciously -
And never calls me a fag. (Because of course I am not one)

You are such an amazing poet, Brother Larry!

I've been trying to compose a poem, but I'm in a pickle. Can you think of a word that would rhyme with "dump"? I just cannot think of one!
