True Christian™ Man as the spitting image of God
An ideal True Christian™ Man as the spitting image of God.
The Bible tells us that God created man in His image (Genesis 1:27). That means that there are similarities between God and men. Where are they? People die, and God is eternal (e.g., Psalm 90:1-4, Isaiah 26:4). God is in the Trinity, while every man is just plain himself. However, we can clearly see that God has some personality traits which are not uncommon among men. Below is a list of God’s personality traits that are described in the Holy Bible; a True Christian™ Man should aspire to possess as many of these Godly characteristics as possible. 1. God is strong. Beautiful sermon, Pastor! I pray that every Christian man follows God's example!

Re: True Christian™ Man as the spitting image of God
What great values. Thank you for posting this. Though I want to caution potential Christians from falling into certain pitfalls in their attempts to follow God's example.
You should indeed be jealous and greedy. Jealously and greed, after all, is what drives our economy. Though you should never ever covet (which is totally different from jealously and greed). Doing that will get you scorn. Romans 7:7-8 While you should indeed be deceitful, you should never lie. Doing that will get you a one way ticket to Hell Revelation 21:8. Try misleading people in ways where you don't directly lie to them. Take your an example from advertisements. eg. "Our product is the best" it isn't a lie if you believe it is the best. Try to imply your product will get you higher social status or something good without directly stating it. If that doesn't work, try to get someone else to lie on your behalf, the way God intended 2 Chronicles 18:22. Remember, you are not allowed to lie, but you can't help it if one of your associates fudges the truth a little ;). Anyone who would be willing to lie on your behalf is probably already Hell bound anyway. Soon you'll be on the pathway to fulfilling your Earthly and Heavenly needs, the way God intended! |
Re: True Christian™ Man as the spitting image of God
Matthew 10:16 is even more appropriate. God doesn't want his people to go out and get run over, so fight fire with fire if that's what needs to be done. Can't say that God endorsed the behavior but many of his men were horrible sinners....King David sent a man off to die in war while he made off with the man's wife...Jacob stole Esaus's blessing for a bowl of beans...and good ol' Moses and Aaron killed several thousand of the Jews who followed them during the exodus due to their worship of idols. They don't show that happening on Veggietales! God doesn't play around when it comes to stopping sinners!

9. God enjoys cruelty.
Psalm 137:9 Happy shall he be, that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the stones. Thank you Pastor! This verse always brings tears of joy to my eyes. YIC |

No, that bit is an add on. Do we know who wrote it? No, of course not. It's not in the old text (which I'll put here) may God guide your ears as you click to play

They won't accept, because the source of the money (ie. you) is tainted, and that might offend God: Deuteronomy 23:18 "Thou shalt not bring the hire of a whore, or the price of a dog, into the house of the Lord thy God for any vow: for even both these are abomination unto the Lord thy God." But verily I require your pastoral guidance on the question of Deuteronomy 25:11, which clearly states the following: "Two men are fighting and the wife of one of them intervenes to drag her husband clear of his opponent, if she puts out her hand and catches hold of the man by his privates, you must cut off her hand and show her no mercy". I am asking you this because it happened to my friend yesterday and she is beside herself with fear of the Lord's fierce anger and she feels her hand slipped and the touching of private parts was inadvertant. So she intends to appeal the cutting off of the offending hand. But please Pastor, offer us your righteous wisdom and opinion of what she might say to Yahweh in her own defense that he might bestow his infinite mercy and at the very least agree to a lighter sentence like an ankle tag or something. Or is the situation already lost? |

As long as you don't blaspheme against the Holy Ghost, you can still be Saved, my dear. Just don't screw up your chances forever and ever by doing it: Luke 12:10 And whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but unto him that blasphemeth against the Holy Ghost it shall not be forgiven. :kjv1611-read: The Holy Bible contains several instances where God tells us to follow the secular laws of the lands where we live. Can you find three of such instances? HINT: Look in Romans, Hebrews, and 1 Peter. And yes, I have deliberately chosen the longer letters for you to peruse (the same thing is also mentioned in a couple of very short ones). :giggle: |
Re: True Christian™ Man as the spitting image of God
I always had a feeling that God was nothing but the opposite of what I was taught to see him as. I will never feel ashamed ever again, for seeing God as I knew He truly is:
1. God is strong. 2. God is fierce. 3. God is jealous. 4. God is vindictive, punishing guilty and their innocent families. 5. God loves war. 6. God is greedy. 7. God is mean, giving bad laws just to make people suffer and to punish them. 8. God knows no mercy. 9. God enjoys cruelty. 10. God enjoys misguiding people. I love knowing that God loves war, because now I understand why the government spends so much money on the military. It didn't make sense to me until now. I'm glad we have the most powerful and strongest military in the world. I love them all, but my favorite is that God is jealous: Deuteronomy 6:15: 15 (For tthe Lord thy God is a jealous God among you) ulest the anger of the Lord thy God be kindled against thee, and destroy thee from off the face of the earth. Thank you for this great sermon. |
Re: True Christian™ Man as the spitting image of God
Adam was made in the image of God.—.the woman was made from Adam's rib later on.—.and God was happy with what He had made.
Satan got busy. After naming all the animals and deciding he didn't fancy any of them for "companionship" Adam remained in a sinless condition. Satan knew that God would need to do something about that and sure enough He did. This would also be on Day Six. The details are recorded as follows:
Satan deceived the woman, a sin so severe that punishment of four or even ten generations was insufficient. All babies are now born vile as a result, deserving of torture. The Bible is very clear on this point.
The Bible establishes that [A] the wicked are born wicked and [B] everyone is wicked from birth. But God found the humans He created to be very good. Something had gone wrong to produce humans that are all born wicked, to corrupt the image of God in which Adam was created. This takes many forms and The Bible addresses one of them in Judges. It relates to war. Or more specifically a latent desire for peace. The Bible includes a very clear example of what happens then.
God created Adam in His own image. God's nature is described throughout The Bible. Sin corrupted the image of God in all humanity, such as the Zidonians who seem to have had a calm and peaceful existence. God wiped them out. God did not exterminate absolutely everyone in The Promised Land because the Israelites were [C] certain to revert to wickedness, disregarding God and [D] that means getting fancy notions about peace and harmony with all nations. God is a man of war. How would His promise be fulfilled if the Danites were sitting around like the Zidonians having not a care in the world? Who would exterminate the denizens of Laish occupying territory promised by God to Abramhttp://www.23hq.com/23666/25790756_e...04be_thumb.jpg Isaachttp://www.23hq.com/23666/25790635_5...fb55_thumb.jpg and Jacobhttp://www.23hq.com/23666/25790636_7...9539_thumb.jpg and their descendants? Land which God had specifically pointed out? They would not have been able to do so. ____________ 1. Genesis 15:18 2. Genesis 26:1-4 3. Genesis 28:10-16 |
