introduction

Good evening all. Just wanted to introduce myself. I found this site when I googled "domestic discipline support groups". I'm just looking for positive ways to grow in my faith in the Lord and improve my marriage. I look forward to exploring the site!

Do you have your husbands permission to post here? What church do you attend? Favorite Bible Verse?

Hi there! Nice to meet you. Joining a group is not bad. They can give you counseling and some advice. I think, you should bring with you your husband.

I play 4 instruments. I am originally from ohio but have lived in texas for over 7 years. I am a Mormon. I converted about 6 years ago. i love how family and service oriented my church is. I have 2 kids of my own and 3 step kids. My favorite verse is phil 4:8 "do not be anxious in anything. But in all things, with thanksgiving, present your requests to the Lord."

I have 5 kids in total. 2 biological and 3 step kids. We dont homeschool at this time. My step kids all have special needs that they are getting met in the high school. Plus I had to go back to work a year ago. Im a convert to the Mormon church and my favorite verse right now is phil 4:8 because I struggle with anxiety.

But Mormons aren't Christians! :nonono:

Re: introduction

Huh? yes we are.we believe the Bible to be the literal word of God. we believe that Jesus IS his son and that he is the Savior. it is only through His sacrafice and our obedience that we find salvation. We believe in loving God and loving others. what else is there? isn't that what matters? or am i misunderstanding something? i wasn't raised Lds, i converted a few years ago.

What about Joseph Smith?

pioneerprincess 03-21-2014 01:12 PM

Re: introduction

He was a prophet. he started the church. every denomination has a man who started it. John wesley and the methodists etc....we dont worship or praise joseph smith. we respect him. he was a servant. No more, no less.

Young lady, please read Pastor Zeke's detailed explanation of Why Mormons are NOT Christians.

But welcome to our friendly forums. I believe that our Beloved :lord-fancy: has sent you here for a reason, and that reason is that He wants you to be Saved.

Tell me, how many other wives does your "husband" have? Clue: if the answer is > 0, then he is not in fact your husband.

Did you mean Philippians 4:6?

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

But the LORD is ignoring you.

Coincidence?

I think not!

God doesn't listen to the prayers of sinners!

Perhaps you should consider the church you pledge your spiritual allegiance to, and how it was founded (spoilers - profit not prophet).

MORMON FUN FACT!

In March 1826, 21 year old Joseph Smith was convicted of being a disorderly person and an impostor. Smith admitted at a trial in Brainbridge, NY to be defrauding people by
claiming to be a Glass Looker and using Magic Seeing Stones to find hidden treasure or lost property. About 18 months later, he founded Mormonism by

... wait for it...

Finding Magical Gold Tablets that could only be read with Magical Seer Stones!

And guess who had the only Magical Seeing Stones!

Hello Pioneer Woman,

Welcome to forum..Was your husband a Mormon when your step kids were afflicted?

Psalms 94:12 Blessed is the man whome thou chastenest, O Lord: and teachest him out of thy Law:

God bless.

I am my husband's only wife. The church outlawed polygamy a long time ago. My husband was raised in the church. But I converted about a year before I met my husband. Both of our marriage feel apart because the other spouse cheated. We have full custody of all 5 kids and are doing our best to teach them to live the Savior and serve others. Whether that is in your own family, your church family or the community.

Hello Dear Princess of the Pioneer Era:

Your magic underwear is showing, sweetheart. At this point in time I find it hard to fellowship with you. I want you to understand that this in no way means I am turning you away.

However, at this point you are unsaved, so the kindest way I can say this is that you need to find :jesus-fancy: as your :savior-fancy: or you are going to find yourself burning in :hell-2: with Joseph Smith, whose magic glasses would have been an "As Seen on TV" product had there been the slightest truth to the story. Although I have to say most of those products are scams (a few are not). But that's a story for another day when you become washed in the soul cleansing :blood: of :jesus-fancy:. His exsanguination is the greatest period in the history of the world.

You see, in a sense, when our LORD shed His blood, just as we ladies do but yet in a different way because JESUS didn't have a uterus (although He knows what it is like to have one, because HE made us) so He couldn't menstruate and why would He want to, I mean - it's a messy business, don't you think? But I digress. That "period" of our precious LORD's life, His torture and shedding of blood and then a few days later, VOILA, no blood, not even the slightest bandaid needed (or whatever your favorite bandage is - I prefer Bandaids because they are sterile (like Mom 7's husband should be), is when GOD carried out His mission to kill His Son and then bring Him back to life so that we could fellowship with the three of them (Father, Son, and Holy Ghost) forever and ever and ever.

When GOD calls us home to be with Him, it won't be in some celestial family, sweetheart, we will be married to CHRIST, Hallelujah!

Poor Joe will be screaming to us from the pit while we enjoy a beverage with our favorite Bible character. Sitting at my table will be my namesakes, Naomi and Ruth. My mother, Deborah and her namesake Deborah, and that hunk David will have a slice of my pie if JESUS says it's ok (there may be a pie day in Heaven, I don't know).

Bottom line, hon - pray to JESUS, confess your sins to Him, burn that Book of mormon, set yourself up with the 1611 KJV Bible, and you might someday sit at the table at the marriage supper of the LAMB. That lamb can save you, I can only lead you to the place where HE will shear your sins from your body and soul. GLORY!

(Men, I am so sorry for rambling so long. If one of you needs to punish me I'll be by the prayer chapel. Ring twice.)

In :christ-fancy:
Naomi Ruth

We all know that dear, but we also know that a number of mormen choose to ignore it. I am extremely relieved to hear that you claim not to be among them!

So you converted without even a husband's consent? What on earth possessed you to do such a thing? :o

Hmmm. That's a bit of a coincidence, isn't it? Would you like to discuss why you think they might have done this? I fully understand, though, if you prefer to draw a veil over it, at least in the open forums. You can always ask Pastor Zeke for guidance, as I do on personal matters. Or there is always Auntie Flo's Prayer Shack where we women can discuss women's matters.

Welcome again, dear.

Re: introduction

My ex cheated on me with young girls that worked at the restaurant he was managing. i let it go for a long time, blaming myself. plus we had 2 little boys to think of. but, after doing everything he asked of me for 2 years and him not touching me at all during that period, i suggested therapy. he refused and walked out a couple months later. we started our family when we were very young and i think he needed to experience more of the world. I was happy just being a wife and mother. He wasnt. As for my husband's ex.....one day she just didnt come home. There are lots of details but to sum it up, she hasnt seen her kids in over 3 years, she is living in sin with a man with 3 felony drug convictions on his record, she owes us tons of money and she has an active warrant out for her arrest. Shes crazy. We both learned a lot from our failures and have been happily married for 4 years. We all fall short of the glory of God. But i know my Savior. And i have faith that His grace is sufficient. I found this site in my efforts to grow and learn. Not only because we have decided to mold our marriage into a domestic discipline relationship, but because i feel like something is missing and i am not yet whole. i dont know if that is the best way to describe it. I hope you can at least kinda understand. Im searching for something. Im just not sure what yet.
