Can't get married? Can your father not find a nice young man for you? Or is your father forbidding marriage as your services are required about the house?

Which "proportion" would you like to fit God's Holy Bible into?

Why not introduce yourself on the Introductions section? Tell us how Jesus touched you, and what your favorite verses of scripture are.

Lord save me. Another "but you're not reading it in context" fluffy bunny retards.

Here is context for you!!

Deuteronomy 4:2 Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you.

Deuteronomy 12:32
What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it.

Proverbs 30:5 Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.
Proverbs 30:6 Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.

Matthew 4:4 Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

Romans 15:4 For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.

James 2:10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.

To me, that does not say "Hey go and cherry pick my words and take from it what you will".

Idiot!

And for your next question, no I have never worn mixed fabrics or eaten shellfish!

Explain in detail what the correct reading is, and how you know, or retract.

What a great message. The Bible never said "irreconcilable differences" was a reason to get divorced.

I'd say it is abuse not to beat your wife. Can you imagine the tremendous emotional scarring caused by a lack of beating? Beating her lets her know that you care enough about her to want to make the marriage work, and that you want her to improve.

Since "no fault" divorce was introduced more than 2/3 of women initiate the divorces! Women Initiate Divorce 66% of The Time: Why Do They Want To Get Married? - Yahoo News
While it is not mentioned in the article, the other 1/3 no doubt the result of the wives being cheating whores.

I really think they should make it illegal for women to get a divorce or decide to become separated. She signed the agreement "till death do us part". A women getting a divorce is no different than an employee signing a contract then walking out when the job is 1/3 of the way complete claiming "irreconcilable differences" with his boss.

In my opinion. I don't think it is okay to beat your wife. But of course if it is two consenting adults it's not my business. Although beating her for things like "burning the pie, using too much starch and flashing an ankle" are a bit...much? Flashing an ankle? Right there you are starting to sound like those Mormon extremists over in Arizona. That's just what it sounds like to me. You know how all those Mormons in compounds where skirts and blouses? Do your women wear those too? I mean, if you want to stop them flashing their ankles make them wear socks or something. I mean no disrespect but you do realize God was talking to the Jews when he "told" them all this right? From a few things I've read on here you hate Jews. I'm just saying I really don't think you need to beat her. I'm sure she would realize her mistake and correct it next time. Why is beating her necessary?

Hello dear! Welcome to our friendly forum! Here we don't much care about your opinion except when it coincides perfectly with God's opinion as found in the Holy Bible. If you have something to say, please share the chapter and verse in which you find it.

First off, don't ever accuse us of being like Mormons. You know those fools believe God lives on a planet called Kolob? That is delusional insanity, no where in the Bible is this mentioned.

Secondly, the Bible is clear on women.

1st Timothy 2:9 In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;

I can assure you, there is no flashing of ankles in the Creeser household.

Well, people, I think it's not right to "abuse" your wife or even beat her! If you love her, why would you want her to feel pain? Aren't words enough to make her learn from the mistake, if she does something wrong?

Eph. 5:23-32

For the husband is the head of the wife, euen as Christ is the head of the Church: and he is the sauiour of the body.
Therefore as the Church is subiect vnto Christ, so let the wiues bee to their owne husbands in euery thing.
Husbands, loue your wiues, euen as Christ also loued the Church, and gaue himselfe for it:
That he might sanctifie & cleanse it with the washing of water, by the word,
That hee might present it to himselfe a glorious Church, not hauing spot or wrinckle, or any such thing: but that it should bee holy and without blemish.
So ought men to loue their wiues, as their owne bodies: hee that loueth his wife, loueth himselfe.
For no man euer yet hated his owne flesh: but nourisheth and cherisheth it, euen as the Lord the Church:
For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.
For this cause shall a man leaue his father and mother, and shall be ioyned vnto his wife, and they two shalbe one flesh.
This is a great mysterie: but I speake concerning Christ and the Church.
Neuerthelesse, let euery one of you in particular, so loue his wife euen as himselfe, and the wife see that she reuerence her husband.

In fact, I see in this context, that you actually should love your wife, care for her like you care for your own body. Actually, if I did something wrong, I wouldn't start beating myself for that. I will learn it only by knowing that I did something wrong. In the quote I made, I read so much love and respect for each other in a marriage- I think, violence should be no topic in that. Marriage is something holy to me and in my opinion it shouldn't be stained by violence, which is something evil in my eyes.
Do you really like if your wife is scared of you? Wouldn't you prefer it, if she would look up to you with respect instead of fear? Don't you think, a peaceful partnership is possible without any violence? :innocent:

Ecclesiastes 8:13 "But it shall not be well with the wicked, neither shall he prolong his days, which are as a shadow; because he feareth not before God."

I just did a Bible search for "fear God" (272 results) and "love God" (211 results). What does that tell you about what God prefers?

As for "respect God", only 82 results.

Absolutely, I could not agree more...as long as she isn't in violation of God's Holy Word.

For instance, there was that one time she spoke in church.

Re: Wives!! Stay in your abusive marriage!!

Thank you for the link, John Creeser. I did read the thread and in fact, I have some questions, if you don't mind, since I am completely new to christianity and didn't finish the bible yet.
I know, it doesn't matter much to you, because all you want is to go to heaven along with your wife, but... may I ask if you are happy together? Does she agree that she gets punished?
And, in fact she wasn't speaking, I think. As every human would do, she made a noise because of pain or maybe because she was shocked for a moment, so she didn't intend to speak. Is that really a sin, if you couldn't control it? Isn't it punishment enough to realise what she just did? You see, I don't understand the sin yet. Is it only a sin, if you are aware that it is a sin, or can you be a sinner without knowing anything about god?
Did you regret that you had to punish her? What did you feel in that moment? I ask, because I really can't imagine to hurt a person I love. :(
You don't have to answer these questions, but I would be really grateful.

And one thing for this thread: As someone said before, if it is an "abusive" marriage, it has nothing to do with love anymore. And hurting a person without reason, isn't that a sin? Wouldn't that mean that she is married to a man who is a sinner? I think, a divorce would be the better choice so she can look for a good man. :fear2:

And a question to everyone: At what age do you think you should marry?

Maybe he wants to go to Heaven to get away from his wife:

Mark 12:25 "For when they shall rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage; but are as the angels which are in heaven."

What does that have to do with it? Do you think prison terms should be voluntary?

Quote:

1 John 5:18 "We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not."

Her sinning means she isn't Saved yet. If she was Saved, she would be incapable of sinning.

I was a feminist when my husband and I started dating but after we got married, he was determined to make me mind. I'm much better now. Its good to paddle your wife even she detests it if u stay persistent she will respect you for it later. I know he just wants to save me from the lake of fire now, even thoiugh I used to get so angry at him for it.

This is your second warning about the foul language. If you can't make your points without controlling your emotions, you'll be asked to leave.
