Cairns, inukshuks, weird piles of stones: What Would Jesus Do?

Sometimes in the woods I find rocks piled into weird shapes. Are they a noble assertion of Man's dominion over nature? Pagan idols that God commands us to destroy? Good busywork for people who don't know how to relax? Or just another form of vandalism, proof that we can't so much as hunt a lost golfball without encountering inner-city values? Or free entertainment for me, when I kick them down?

I don't like them. Hours after I've walked away from one, I find myself wondering if it's fallen down yet. They're creepy, the way they are just balanced like that. You don't know if some Jabroni piled them up just a half an hour ago, of if it sat like that for some number of years, defying wind and storms like they've got something to prove. They're not right I tell you. I don't like them. I don't even like thinking about them.

If I was Jesus I would pile up the rocks and they would turn into fish or something delicious for my followers to eat.

They are the sign of "work for idle hands!" And who provides that? Yes, that's right, Satan!

The problem is, do we kick them down and have Satan provide more work for idle hands or do we leave them there as this will surely allow temptation to overcome others?

I'd kick them down... there are more Christians than idlers (if you don't count Messicants and Darkies and they never leave the city) - we'll win in the end.

Three years have passed and I see no improvement. These abominations are still appearing.

The Lord is quite clear on this: 2Ki 12:3 But the high places were not taken away: the people still sacrificed and burnt incense in the high places.

Indeed, near to the first altar there is every sign that there was a fire for a burnt offering to some strange god - judging by the chicken bones. And additionally there were beer cans that are libations to some abhorrence.

It is only a matter of time before charred human remains are found.
