What about Alan Turing? No-one could call him dum. For those who don't know who was, he was one of the scientists at bletchly park during world war 2. It was him who crack Engima, the german code, and possibly helped win the war, which could have prevented the Greman invasion of the U.S.A. He was arrested in the 50s for homosexuality and commited suicide not long after, with an apple laced with cyanide.
