In my experience, you just have to stand firm and cite relevant Bible passages.
Trust me, in no time will they be overcome by emotion and throw a fit yelling "idiot! idiot!"
Just stay calm and rational and be helpful with information. They may be yelling, but you have also planted the seed of God's Word that may flourish into a flower once they realize how foolish they have been.
