Yes Brother Phil, that was a mistake on Roy's part. We have no record of any father objecting to the attention Roy gave to the daughters. They actually did give, by their silence, the girls to Roy and put them under his care. But Roy did not explain this. I think this entire thing would have blown over if he had merely told people about the fathers' gifts of their daughters.
Roy had a good job and was old enough to take care of them.
