The Hittites were all abominations - worshiping false gods and all that stuff. It is clear that they all turned into Muslims.
(Note how there is a place called "Turnip" - That is probably where the Swedes came from.)
It is simply a genetic thing: if your grandfather was stupid and violent, and your father was stupid and violent, the chances are that you will be stupid and violent: and that is how your average Muslim becomes a Muslim, and accounts for what they do.
This "transporting of place names" is common, there's loads in the US - all Godly:
