There is a demon called "Neptune" using a 3-pointed pitchfork motif and worshipped by the Romans and Greeks (who called the demon Poseidon) indeed many people still worship demons today. "Pride" marches are an example of that where many people actually become demon possessed. The trident is a mockery of The Holy Trinity dreamed up in anticipation of the Gospel message to get as many people worshipping demons as possible before Jesus commenced His ministry. Satan does that a lot, stealing a doctrine and implanting it well in advance just as he is doing today prior to Jesus returning. He doesn't care what you call it as long as you worship it.
And the gays will worship just about anything.
