Can't spell "repossess", either.
The debt is in U.S. dollars. If the Chinese are stupid enough (they aren't) to try to push the matter, the U.S. just defaults on said debt, the U.S. dollar plummets in value, and the value of the debt disappears. Problem solved.
Guess why they haven't done this already?
