I heard an insult today that I had never heard before. It's more of a class slur than a racial slur, but it's often used as a racial slur to denigrate someone of another class without directly referring to their racial status, usually immigrants.
"Panel Beater" refers to someone who hammers out sheet metal for cars and such, often in the back yard, and often well into the night. Hence, the derisive tone that is meted out when the accuser calls his neighbor a mindless metal pounder. This slur goes well with 'grease-monkey'.
