Hebrews 11:1-3 KJV
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good report. Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.
Exodus is a great book. Without the revelation of God's Commandments can you imagine how people would behave? Trollop central, idols everywhere, why not eat babies, pervert-it-up in the public square and flaunt serial killing as a social grace? With no moral compass the heathen has no reason not to do these things and Exodus provides a sound historical record of God's provision in this regard.
Og. Synonymous with pride, blood lust, high walls, gates and bars. No doubt he saw himself secure within a haçienda of vice—as we know it could only be due to our having God's Just Law and he not—but Og was vulnerable. From the historical record:
Deuteronomy 3:3-6 KJV
So the LORD our God delivered into our hands Og also, the king of Bashan, and all his people: and we smote him until none was left to him remaining. And we took all his cities at that time, there was not a city which we took not from them, threescore cities, all the region of Argob, the kingdom of Og in Bashan. All these cities were fenced with high walls, gates, and bars; beside unwalled towns a great many. And we utterly destroyed them, as we did unto Sihon king of Heshbon, utterly destroying the men, women, and children, of every city.
Framing those 60 cities with walls and bars was no defence against the Authority Of God. Nukes and nerve gas are similarly impotent where His Will is manifest as it is in these end times and where maniacs seek once more to destroy. At this stage they are primarily destroying one another and it's difficult to see how any unified assault would eventuate.
But our
faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen and just as I am encouraged whenever I read Exodus, encouraged every time its accuracy verified, so I am encouraged by the consistency of God's Word and the unseen certainty of a solution at last despite the terror yearned for by heathen wretches everywhere.
