I suppose you'll try to use the, "the Greek word means mature." That's what they use in modern Bibles.
If that is the case, then why is the same Greek word used in Matthew 5:48?

The important thing is to really read the Bible. I mean hunker down with it and cross reference the verses. That's why I like the NASB as a companion study guide to the KJV. It will guide you to all the verses where the same story is told elsewhere.
