I think the Danes owe a special thanks to the German People. Without the help of one unnamed German Knight in 1227 they would have lost one of their greatest kings, Valdemar II, at the Battle of Børnehoved on 22 July. After the rescue, the King was able to stabilize Denmark with it's first true feudal system.
