The US just completed the invasion of Okinawa were we were forced to kill 1/2 of the civilian population and almost the entire military garrison On Sapan and Okinawa Japaneses civilians were observed throwing their
own children off of cliffs rather than have them captured. We were looking repeating the same even on a much larger scale on the Japanese home island. One way or another those civilians were going to die so how does a nuclear weapon make any difference in their deaths?
As far as the Japanese population being innocents that utterly ludicrous, the Japanese government was elected and widely supported. They filled they ranks of the Japanese military and were quite willing to kill, rape and
even eat the civilians of other countries when they had the chance.
