At first I was excited to hear about a colored girl finding a way of incorporating her natural predispositions into her walk with Jesus.
Sadly, I watched the video, listened to the entire song, and didn't find even one mention of Jesus Christ prior to the four minute mark:
I Want To Be Thick For Jesus: A Gospel Song About Fried Chicken!
Worse yet, she sings that she believes
the chicken died so that we might live! Not Jesus, but the damned chicken!
I know these people love their fried chicken, but elevating it to the level where you're praising a chicken instead of Jesus? That's taking idolatry to a level I never even imagined!
I know God never makes mistakes, but I wish He would have included fried chicken along with graven images and likenesses and and suchlike when He wrote Exodus:
Quote:
Exodus 20:3-6
3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.
5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
6 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.
