What's next, comparing 9-11 to light skirmishes such as the Civil War, or the British occuping Boston and burning Washington down, or the Japanese invading Alaska and bombing Hawaii while German subs sink ships in New York Harbor, or the Russians being a half-hour away from turning us all into radioactive ashes with the push of a button...
Civil liberties, quaint notions of civilized conduct and international law, could be preserved back then because those events might have been scary but, but where not THE WORST EVENT IN THE HISTORY OF THE WORLD.
