A rather insightful post, Sister. The myth that serves as a reason to stop questioning and simply accept fables and stories as legitimate information to explain the world, human nature, and what happens after death. It sounds as if they have a kind of childish reward system built right in - those who trust and sit put and refuse to think will be rewarded with safety, whereas those who question the myth and seek out the truth (which they call a lie) will surely die a gruesome death.
