Be wary of false Kumbaya Christians who use a highlighter and scissors to read the Bible. God wants us to read the lines, not between the lines. False Christians will go to Hell:
    Matthew 7:22
Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
Matthew 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Davis, they are merely words. Keep that in mind.

Yes, I do drive a rig these days, having retired from Wall Street. I bought a small 1,200 acre farm in Virginia. LOL, after a year, I felt cooped up, so I bought a rig and travel Americas highways when the need arises. Nothing like seeing the country from ten feet off the ground at 65 mph and getting paid to do it!

I already did that twice, but it is subtle and complicated, so I am not going to try to do this a third time. Feel free to believe you are right and I am wrong on this, it's not an important issue.

God makes clear homosexuality is not allowed in Romans 1:26, 27. Insulting them is a way to convince them they are on the wrong path and should choose the right path instead.
And where is the verse that says it's okay to insult them? Can you cite that for me?
Have insults been proven effective in the 'treatment' of homosexuals?
If so, do you have proof? Evidence?

Oh, I forgot, True Christians don't believe in scientific evidence and hard facts because they, more often that not, contradict everything True Christians believe in. So, let's just say it's unholy and ignore it, right?
I mean, there's a topic that says the Sun is 500 miles away. How horribly horribly horribly incorrect that is. WE WOULD VAPORIZE. The sun is 93 million miles away. That is the correct and universally accepted distance. And you guys home school your children. It's sad.

Sorry, that turned into a bit of a rant.

Circular reasoning: you have to assume it's incredibly hot, which it's not.

Question though: if I stand 93 million miles away from you. Will you still be able to see me?

Only something incredibly ridiculously hot could produce the amount of light the sun produces. I'm not "assuming" it's hot. It is. There is no refuting that.

AHAHAHAHAHAHA. You're assuming that the sun is the size of a man. And also, that it doesn't emit light.

The sun is 2,713,406 miles in diameter! That's massive! It emits a blazing light as well, so it is MORE than reasonable that we could see the monstrous sun from 93 million miles away. Think about it. Really think about it.

Ge:1:3: And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

I think you are confusing light and heat; glowworms aren't hot and they emit light. So we see there are
                  1. Things that emit light
                  2. Things that emit heat and
                  3. Things that emit heat and light

Pastor Billy Reuben's explanation covers the size of the sun, the distance from the earth to the sun and the amount of heat the sun gives off. It's all there, worked out with formulae and everything.

Yes, but assuming that the sun emits light/heat in all directions equally, then inverse square law applies. Thus, if you assume an incredible distance, the temperature scales up with the square. Then you do indeed arrive at an insane temperature.....

That's circular reasoning: you assume a gigantic diameter to make up for the assumption of a gigantic distance. Then to make up for inverse square law, you assume extreme temperatures.

I'm not assuming anything. I am stating widely accepted, known fact that third-graders are taught. They have PROVED the sun is hot. The sun is hot is like saying humans have fingernails. It is true an absolutely tangible.

If I did, you would only attempt to debunk those too.
His equations weren't correct at all though. If he takes a regular scientific meteorology class, they will inform him of that.

Here's a little excerpt of how they find the distance between celestial bodies (including the sun) scientifically. It's from NASA's official website, very reliable.

You can understand parallax by holding your thumb up at arm's length and looking at it first with one eye, and then your other. Notice how your thumb seems to shift back and forth against the objects that are farther away. Because your two eyes are separated by a few inches, each views your thumb from a different position. The amount that your thumb appears to move is its parallax. When astronomers measure the parallax of an object and know the separation between the two positions from which it is observed, they can calculate the distance to the object. Using observations on Earth separated by thousands of miles -- like looking through two eyes that are very far apart -- parallax measurements can reveal the great distances to planets.

No: it obviously emits both light and heat. I can see the light and I can feel the heat. I just don't believe that the sun's core is millions of degrees Kelvin. How would they even know, did they go with a thermometer to the sun?

There is no material known in science or in the Bible that can withstand those temperatures. So they are really conflicting themselves.

Well, I know that if someone stands behind me and looks at my thumb AND the sun, then BOTH my thumb AND the sun will be smaller. Your argument rests on the sun being bigger and my thumb being smaller.
