Touchapuss, what do you think? Spreading the Word of God, Glorifying Jesus. Surely you are not that dense are you? Not to mention the Pastors wages, home, cars, food, clothing and entertainment. Running a Church, especially Gods Favorite Church is not cheap. The fuel bill for the Pastors jets last month alone was huge. You cant expect them to travel overseas on a Greyhound buss.

How dare you ask?!
1 Corinthians 2:15 But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.
1 Timothy 5:17The elders who direct the affairs of the church well are worthy of double honor, especially those whose work is preaching and teaching. 18For the Scripture says, "Do not muzzle the ox while it is treading out the grain,"[ b] and "The worker deserves his wages."[ c] 19Do not entertain an accusation against an elder unless it is brought by two or three witnesses.

That's a good point. All I hear is "Give to Jesus" around here when it's actually just giving to people.

With that attitude Larry, the chances of you being saved are slim to none.

In other words, it's squandered on unnecessary luxuries and a gratuitously lavish lifestyle. I choose not to contribute to that.

Touchapuss how is it lavish? Do you live in a house? Have a car, do you buy food, gas, etc? Have you ever flown on a jet?
Let me guess, you live in a card board box. Ride the buss. Grow your own food. Use a candle to light the night and you never fly.

I live in a house - not a mansion.
I cook my own meals, do my own cleaning, tend my own yard. I don't have servants.
I have a car - it's 15 years old, has 88,000 miles on it, and I do much of my own maintenance on it to keep it running efficiently. It gets between 26 and 28 mpg in town, over 30 on the highway. I'm not driven around by a chauffeur in a limo, nor do I go about in a modified troop transport that gets 4 mpg on its best day. I also walk or ride a bicycle for errands close to home.
I do grow some of our food.
I don't use candles at night, but I use 60W CF bulbs.
When I fly, I do so on commercial airlines at the lowest fare I can find, not on a private jet tricked out to rival Air Force One.

I am baffled. How can anyone put a price on Salvation©?
If there are Unsaved Harlots in Amsterdam and the Pastors decide to do an outreach to Save© them, should the Pastors hop a freighter, take a week or so to make it to Mozambique, a month by camel to Holland? A Pastors time is precious. A miserable trip like I just described would take days if not weeks to recover from. In the mean time, millions of souls that may of been Saved© become lost. So instead, the Pastors fly in a LBC jet. They can be at any location in the world in about 12 to 16 hours. Arrive refreshed, they can immediately do Gods' work.
I recall such a trip last year. Fives day, I think t was from when they left and when they returned. Every one, ready to work for Jesus, walking with a spring in their step too I might add.
In the same amount of time it takes to go by a slow BP Oil tanker to do a single mission, Taking a LBC jet, the Pastors can do 10 such missions throughout the world.
And you want to begrudge the poor souls reaching out, begging for True Salvation™. People like you make me want to puke.
I give over 50% of my reported income every year to LBC. I'd give even more if I could take the deduction.
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

Exactly - it's like what they say at the only stores worth shopping at: " If you need to look at a price tag, you can't afford it".
