Renaming Days, Months -
04-11-2012, 12:27 AM
Dear True Christians, I am wondering if we should consider starting a petition to have the pagan names for the days of the week and for several of the months of the year to be changed?
Wednesday is named for Woden; Thursday for Thor and Friday for Frigga, for goodness sake.
January is named for Janus; March is named for Mars and June for Juno, and July and August are named for Julius and August Caesar. What's really awful is that they inserted these months to name for those Roman God-mockers and moved September, which means "seventh" and October which means "eighth" and November, which means "nineth" and December which means "tenth" to the nineth, tenth, eleventh, and twelveth months of the year.
Isn't there something that can be done about this?
Very Botheredly Yours,
Handmaiden

Oh, and Saturday comes from "Saturn". And in the romance languages, Friday is always named for some version of "Venus" which is why the word always sounds a little bit like veneral disease.
Concernedly Yors,

Perhaps we should rename Friday as 'Fryingday'
Leviticus 2:7
And if thy oblation be a meat offering baken in the fryingpan, it shall be made of fine flour with oil.
Genesis 7:5
And Noah did according unto all that the LORD commanded him.
John 8:32
And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

I don't know. All I do know is that it is an awful thing that we good, Christians should be subjected to referring to our days and months by unholy pagan names that someone else picked out.
It is almost as if the entire world has bowed down to Satan in this matter.
Inconsolably Yours,
Handmaiden

How about Sonday instead of Sunday?
Genesis 7:5
And Noah did according unto all that the LORD commanded him.
John 8:32
And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

That's a start. The real issue is whether or not we can get the needed political support to make the proper changes so that paganism isn't the guiding force to the way that we measure our days upon the God's green earth.
Right now, I don't hear any candidate speaking out against this pervasive form of idolatry.
They seem to be persuing other concerns, when the first and most critical commandment, is " I am the Lord thy God. Thou shallt have no other gods before Me."
Hopefully Yours,
Handmaiden

I say we use the number system, as God prescribes in the book of Genesis:
Quote:
Genesis 1:5
And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.

Yes! First day, second day, third day, etc. Also, first month, second month, third month, etc. This way all those pagan gods and abominable caesers who called themselves gods would not be enshrined and honored in human history and culture.
The only good thing about our current system of assigning dates is the fact that we acknowledge the years as "the year of our Lord" as in, "In the two thousand and tweflth year of our Lord."
Making everyone in the world follow that system properly honors Jesus and gives Him His proper place as creator of the world.
Happily Yours,
Handmaiden

Which Christian candidate would you like to hear speak about it?
Oh, right. There isn't one.

My dear Sister, I regret to inform you that for the last 30 years or so, "BC" (Before Christ) and "AD" (Anno Domini, or Year of Our Lord) have been replaced with "BCE" (Before Common Era) and "CE" (Common Era).
Even our calendar-makers hate Jesus. No wonder God is venting His rage against all the world!

I've got it!
We should name the days after what God did on them. For example, naming Monday the day of light and sunday the day of rest.
This space is reserved for posting KJV Scripture ONLY. Any other gibberish will get you instabanned. --ADMIN

That's actually not a totally horrible idea. Well done!
Now, Sunday is traditionally the first day of the week, with Saturday as the last; we just use Sunday as the Christian Sabbath.
So we would have:
Sunday => Lightday
Monday => Skyday
Tuesday => Landay (land day)
Wednesday => Sunday
Thursday => Animalday
Friday => Manday
Saturday => Sabbath Day

But Sabbath is the day we rest.
As I'm no filthy joo (or 7th day adventist) I rest on Sunday, so I vote for Monday as Lightday.
