What Are You Doing for Valentine Day? -
01-24-2010, 06:04 PM
Thought I'd kick this off. As many of you know, I am just a big softy who spoils his wife and daughters, much to my sons chagrin.
This year, I am letting the girls make homemade chocolate creme filled animals. Bunnies, squirrels, coons and beaver.
I got the missus a new broom as the old one was looking a bit worn and the handle had been taped to together as her head hit it a few times. For the girls, I got them a new iron, this one is electric. No longer do they have to put it on the stove to heat it up and my shirts will no longer look like this!
Form the boys, they are getting new ATV's as the ones from last year are a bit worn out. The oldest boy is getting a car when he turns 16 this June. I am giving him my old 1008 Carrera as I will be getting a Cayenne. We are also going to Las Vegas for the SEMA show and then the Truck and Farm show over the summer. For my sweet niece Claudette, I am taking her with me to Maui in the fall as a thank you for being my designated driver at the Landover 2009 New Years Eve All Night prayer session at the good Rev. Osborne's magnificent home.
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

Whoa, you truly are a family man! When I was a child on Valentines Day, if I even dared celebrate it my father would mock me calling me a little homer boy . Ever since those horrible memories, I haven't dared to celebrate Valentines Day. The most I'll do is get the wife a small gift.

Do we really need papist propaganda on this Godly forum?

I don't do Valentine's day but around this time last year, I gave Mrs Bathfire some tools as she had been using my hammer, etc, to fix the shingles on the roof.

Wow, you really do spoil your women. Seems a bit harsh to make your boys wait a full year for new ATVs though.

Sister Verna and I Luv the Valentines day. It is a day to settle old scores.
We dress up in old time outfits and ride around visiting the other competition churches in our town. I have a fine example of our Second Amendment Rights that I carry along with a baseball bat. Sister Verna wears an outfit she calls her "Bonnie dress". I wear a nice hat, and smoke a fine cigar.
We have lots of fun putting the fear of the Lord into all the false churches in our territory. Sister Verna is always thrilled when I give the 80 year old papist priest, Father Barzini, a dead fish wrapped in newspaper.
Last year we made a deal with the episcopalian deacon, we did him a 'favor' with some spray paint and the joo synagogue walls. Then the deacon got to hear my Sermon. It goes like this:
Some day, and that day may never come, I will call upon you to do a service for me. But until that day, consider this justice a Valentines gift...
It so sad that folks now a days don't celebrate Valentines day like it was really meant to be

Perhaps I was not clear. I got them ATV's last year, the ATV's are now a year old and so I am getting the boys brand new ones. Hopefully, we will do a family hunt on the 14th. Spreading pheromones and wait in the blinds and then rip off a bunch of rounds. Our freezer is full so this hunt would be just for fun.

Don't you know it! Nothing like a creme filled chocolate beaver! Actually, it is a great treat any time of the year.
My wife gets the nigresses in the kitchen and really whips it up. Then she has it served to me, still hot and steamy. Yum Yum!

I've been invited to several parties and even a "Valentines Ball", but don't think I feel like entering "the dating scene".
It's been almost three years since the Reverend Daryl died, but the lawyers say that while the will's still being challenged by his family (and creditors) in probate court it's better for me to not be linked to anyone new.
I might chaperone one of the dances at the local Girls Academy. There's no telling what trouble they'll get into, with what most parents consider to be "okay" today. If I do, I'm bringing a mile of lace with me to stitch into too-low necklines

Why, I think that's a real nice t-shirt, Brother James. I'm just a tad jealous.
Last year, my sweetie bought me this one for Valentine's Day:
I don't know yet what she'll be getting for me this year. She's just full of surprises - if my 3 wives ever find out, I'll be sunk. Anyway, I personally hate to buy presents, so I'll be taking her out to dinner at this fancy place:
Best food in Wacko, Texas!

Brother Buford
yours in Christ,
Brother Buford

That is one fancy place! I'll probably follow the tradition of my friends and I, and bring axes to the local park and chop down the trees and bushes in front of the hippy, treehugging couples taking a Valentine's day stroll.

I will be preaching a Godly sermon against the evils of ONANISM and fornication! Then my family and I will have a two-hour Bible study in our home, and then the womenfolks will prepare dinner with our Negro servants while the boys and I watch re-runs of the SuperBowl on TiVo! Glory!
