I am getting slightly offended about you making me out to be of low intelligence. I am not a pre-teen either, I am 15. Yes I am young but I just want answers. And being a goth doesn't fault my intelligence!
Anyway, about the question, it seems unlikely I am aware. But imagine this for a moment. Say Christianity didnt exist and then one day one man or woman chose to write a book. Claiming they saw these miracles happen. This was a mere commoner and people just carried it on and believed it. That's the only way I can look at it. How do you see it so literally?

Are you confusing the Bible with the Book of Mormon?

We take it literally because the Bible claims to be the divinely-inspired Word of God.
2 Tim 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
2 Pet 1:20 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
The Bible claims to be perfectly preserved.
Ps 12:6-7 The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O Lord, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.
And the Bible claims to be infallible.
Jn 10:35 If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken;
While the people who wrote the books of the Bible may have been primitive and uneducated, their inspiration came from an omniscient source. The fact that so many Bible stories seem far-fetched tells me that they must have really happened. Who would dare make up such stories, for fear of ridicule?
| Mt 21:42, 44 Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes . . . ? And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.

Yes. It claims to be but we can't be sure, not 100%, I know you aren't all stupid so you must know that. You can believe what you want, I'm just saying there is no definite truth that we can find until we are dead. So is it really worth risking insulting and abusing women, offending people or other beliefs and other peoples life from your own beliefs that nobody can truely prove as fact?

Kitty, have you confessed your sins to Jesus? Have you asked Him to take control of your life? Have you begun reading the Bible in order to better know Him? Do you pray to Him on a daily basis?
If you can not answer yes to all of those questions, you can not possibly understand our knowledge that the Bible is God's inspired word.
Jesus is the Word made flesh, and it is our direct, personal, firsthand experience of Him that inspires our understanding of scripture.
Jesus is knocking on the door to your heart right now, this very minute. I pray that you will open up and let him in, because you'll have a much easier time understanding the transformative truth and power of scripture once you have Him inside of you.

oh, but you are wrong. There is lots of proof to be found, if your brains just have enough capacity to understand.
Of course we Christians do not need any proofs, we know because the Bible says so.

You're presupposing the existence of an afterlife, but according to your statement, we cannot know whether there is an afterlife till we are dead. And if there is no afterlife, we will never know anything.

Ah, but is it worth risking treating women and gays as equals when you cannot disprove the existence of God? What if He exists? What then? Ask yourself that.

One of the problems in Godless Britain is the current law on worship in state schools. From that site (I have highlighted the very worst of the situation in bold):
Quote:
To sum up, the main points are as follows:
- the head teacher is responsible for arranging daily collective worship (assembly);
- daily collective worship must be wholly or mainly of a broadly Christian character but only 51 per cent need be identifiably 'Christian' with the remaining 49 per cent reflecting other faiths or 'interests' over the course of a year;
- it can happen at any time of the school day and should generally happen on the school premises;
- parents can withdraw children from assemblies;
- teachers may withdraw from assemblies;
- the school's annual prospectus should carry information about collective worship and how parents may withdraw their children from it;
- the above apply to state community schools. Church or faith-based schools will have their own way of applying the law within their specific context.
|
So, if their parents have not removed them from assembly, 49% of the time they are worshipping other "faiths or interests", whatever interests may mean in this context.
Jeremiah 14:14 Then the Lord said unto me, The prophets prophesy lies in my name: I sent them not, neither have I commanded them, neither spake unto them: they prophesy unto you a false vision and divination, and a thing of nought, and the deceit of their heart.
It makes me weep, Brother.

I don't want to say much on my personal life but I will say this. I am defiantly not okay with woman beating considering both genders are still the same species. Only God is the superior, man is not. Also being gay is very natural. If it wasn't natural then why would it occur naturally? It usually occurs in boys with older brothers or younger girls with older sisters. It's all biological, not demons and religion. Many of my friends are openly gay and very happy with it, and some if them are even religious! Lovely people.

Well, that's not what the Bible says. What God is to man, man is to woman.
Eph 5:22-24
Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.
Gen 3:16 Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.
| Mt 21:42, 44 Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes . . . ? Why would God make us not equal? Where is the point in putting the male gender dominant when they show no signs if being any superior?

Yes! Of course men and women are the same species! However, women are only here to help continue on the line of humans. It is the only way to be saved (1 Timothy 2:15). If women and men are equal, why are women not allowed to exert authority over men, or teach? (1 Timothy 2:12). The answer is clear to all true Christians! Men are superior to women. Of course, as you got correctly, God is superior to both men and women.
Many of my friends are openly gay and very happy with it, and some if them are even religious! Lovely people.

Obviously they are not religious Christians. Or they would know about Leviticus 18:22, 20:13

I'm confused now, because a moment ago, you said you were against woman beating. Surely you do not deny that woman beating is natural? It occurs in every culture known to man, and has occurred for as long as humans have existed.

Honey, please read the Bible. Once you do you will see all the signs of how men are superior. I've listed some in my previous comment, but there is really no shortcut than to just read the KJV bible.

What are you basing this statement on, dear? You've made it clear you don't believe the Bible is true. Yet the Bible is where we get our definition of sin, and the Bible is what tells us which things are sins and which things aren't sins.
Since you reject the very thing which defines what is or isn't a sin, how can you possibly presume to sit there and tell us whether you have sins? What criteria are you using to make this determination?

Ahem. Men are stronger and smarter than women. Besides, He's God; He can do whatever He wants. He has made believers and unbelievers unequal.
2 Cor 6:4 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
God made man from clay (Gen 2:7). But just as a potter may fashion from the same lump of clay one plain cheap pot and another ornate expensive pot, so God has fashioned from the same clay vessels to be filled with the wine of His wrath and others to be filled with His glory.
Rom 9:21-24
21 Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour?
22 What if God, willing to shew his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction:
23 And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory,
24 Even us, whom he hath called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles?
The Apostle Paul makes it clear that Christians show no sign of being superior yet God makes us superior.
1 Cor 1:26-29
26 For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called:
27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;
28 And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:
29 That no flesh should glory in his presence.
| Mt 21:42, 44 Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes . . . ? I don't find it very constructive, that we are arguing with a child here.
Think of her: first we take the time, she tries to answer our arguments.
Then her little brain is so full of things, she is no way capable to deal with...
2 Tim 2:22-26
All this time is out of the things, she should be doing at home and learning for her future.
I mean: She is created to be a help to some man. Nothing less and nothing more.
Genesis 2:18
That is a great mission!!!

There are many women out there that could lift two cows with one hand! Not all men are stronger than women. I have had my fair few fights and always come out of it untouched and victorious. This is the same with intelligence. It just depends how committed you are to education.
