Can you be Christian AND join PETA? -
04-20-2008, 05:31 AM
This evening I was walking back to my car after a little shopping, and two little PETAns came up to me.
"Are you aware that meat is murder?" asked the first, a boy wearing a pig costume.
"Do you know that the leather you're wearing is dead animal skin?" asked the second, a girl wearing one of their " Skelanimals" T-shirts.
Naturally, I took this to be a God-given opportunity to reach out to these confused youths.
"Young man, are you aware that pigs are omnivores? They eat meat, and hunt other animals. Do you really think they'd support your statement that meat is murder?"
The piggy boy stammered for a moment . . . I took that moment of silence to ask the girl, "Do you know that PETA kills the vast majority of animals entrusted to their care?"
By now, Piggy had regained his voice. "Sure pigs may eat other animals, but they sure don't want to BE eaten!"
I asked Piggy when a pig had been elected to speak on behalf of all pigs and told him this. He looked down his snout at me and said, "Well, OBVIOUSLY pigs don't want to be eaten! Do YOU want to be eaten?"
Brothers and Sisters, I was very nearly offended by this disgusting teen's lewd suggestion! As you know, I'm NOT that sort of girl!
I slapped that little pervert upside the head with my KJV so hard, he's probably absorbed Genesis, Exodus, AND Leviticus by osmosis!
The little girl spoke up. "How can you be so heartless? We're animals, too! We shouldn't eat each other!"
Here, I felt a need to school the little girl in the difference between humans and animals. I told her how humans were given dominion by God over all the earth, including the animals. She LAUGHED at me!
"Oh, we're not Christian! We are animal rights activists!" Then, thinking better of her attitude -- she'd noticed my Ferragamo pumps, and pegged me as a potential DONOR -- she quickly added, "But of course, anyone can join PETA. We're not some sort of cult or anything. Why, I know three or four members in my cell . . . er, in my "street team group" who are Christians. They go to the Lutheran or the Catholic church."
Brothers and Sisters, I gave that little girl more Jack Chick tracts than you can shake a stick at, not to mention a stern talking to! However, it left me with a question:
Is it possible to be both a Christian and a PETAn?
Also, is there some relationship between Scientology and PETA? Thetan/PETAn?

Here we see that the only possible excuse for not eating meat it that you have an urgent errand and that it is The Lord’s Errand:
Ge:24:30: And it came to pass, when he saw the earring and bracelets upon his sister's hands, and when he heard the words of Rebekah his sister, saying, Thus spake the man unto me; that he came unto the man; and, behold, he stood by the camels at the well.
Ge:24:31: And he said, Come in, thou blessed of the LORD; wherefore standest thou without? for I have prepared the house, and room for the camels.
Ge:24:32: And the man came into the house: and he ungirded his camels, and gave straw and provender for the camels, and water to wash his feet, and the men's feet that were with him.
Ge:24:33: And there was set meat before him to eat: but he said, I will not eat, until I have told mine errand. And he said, Speak on.
Ge:24:34: And he said, I am Abraham's servant.
PETA has no such errand.
So what about fur and leather? The Lord has an answer:
Ge:3:21: Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make coats of skins, and clothed them.
Ge:27:16: And she put the skins of the kids of the goats upon his hands, and upon the smooth of his neck:
Ex:25:5: And rams' skins dyed red, and badgers' skins, and shittim wood,
Ex:26:14: And thou shalt make a covering for the tent of rams' skins dyed red, and a covering above of badgers' skins.
I fail to see how thus it is possible to believe the PETA rubbish and be a True Christian™. No True Christian™ would be seen abroad without having some sort of animal product as part of their apparel, so as to Praise The Lord.
Sister JennyD, you mention that your deranged assailants described themselves as Lutherans and Catlix. These people are not Christians in any sense of the word. They have been misled by false prophets and, this combined with, their God-Given free will and whisperings of the devil himself will lead them into abominations and disobedience unto The Lord of Hosts. I smile as I think that they are being led astray like the very sheep they would wish us not to eat, shear, and make leather from.
The only connection I can presently see is the fact that Thetans must believe some awfully strange rubbish and so do PETAns. Perhaps it is an outbreak of some terrible contagion that affects the minds of the cursed in slightly different ways.

Amen, Brother, amen!
I would direct the good sister, and all interested parties, to my treatise on the radical PETA terrorist scum which I posted a few weeks ago.
I'd say being a "Christian PETA" is about like being a "Christian sodomite." I don't think so...
Here is a partial list from just a few scripture verses:
Hypocrites (Matthew 24:51), The Unforgiving (Mark 11:26), Homosexuals (Romans 1:26, 27), Fornicators (Romans 1:29), The Wicked (Romans 1:29), The Covetous (Romans 1:29), The Malicious (Romans 1:29), The Envious (Romans 1:29), Murderers (Romans 1:29), The Deceitful (Romans 1:29), Backbiters (Romans 1:30), Haters of God (Romans 1:30), The Despiteful (Romans 1:30), The Proud (Romans 1:30), Boasters (Romans 1:30), Inventors of evil (Romans 1:30), Disobedient to parents (Romans 1:30), Covenant breakers (Romans 1:31), The Unmerciful (Romans 1:31), The Implacable (Romans 1:31), The Unrighteous (1Corinthians 6:9), Idolaters (1Corinthians 6:9), Adulterers (1Corinthians 6:9), The Effeminate (1Corinthians 6:9), Thieves (1Corinthians 6:10), Drunkards (1Corinthians 6:10), Reviler (1Corinthians 6:10), Extortioners (1Corinthians 6:10), The Fearful (Revelation 21:8), The Unbelieving (Revelation 21:8), The Abominable (Revelation 21:8), Whoremongers (Revelation 21:8), Sorcerers (Revelation 21:8), All Liars (Revelation 21:8)

Sister Jenny, your story moved this old but irascible Christian to tears. How I pray that all our brethren and sistern show such courage when assaulted by the minions of Satan!
These youths retreated from you in confusion because Satan can never overcome those who walk with Christ!
Very few cattle would have the chance to live and breathe on God's Earth if Christian farmers did not raise them for meat and hides. Righteous farmers are the true People Who Treat Animals Ethically.

IF you join PETA, then calling yourself a Christian is heresy. An organisation that supports terrorist cells to do its bidding in the name of protecting animals, is hardly a righteous thing. Not to mention the millions of things that are wrong with their stances. They despise the use of animals for medical testing, but more than 85% of all medical advances can be attributed to it.
If the Lord didn't want us to do it, he would have laid it out plain as day in the Bible. Not to mention that most of the sacrifices offered to the Lord in the Bible, are sheep, lambs, goats, and other livestock. They had to be killed so that the Lord could be shown proper respect. If PETA were around then, they'd have surely burned in Hell for disrespecting the Big Guy.
Do not join PETA. Be actively involved with the SPCA, which is a worthy cause. The SPCA, unlike PETA, deals with animal abuse and neglect. They care about God's creatures, but they do not promote intolerance and hatred for the use of animals for medical research, clothing, labor or food. The ASPCA disassociates itself with PETA, and PETA despises them anyways for euthanizing animals and adopting them out as pets. PETA believes that all animals, should be released and free to do as they choose. I wonder if those eggheads ever pondered the fact that some animals like living with people, and are treated better by their owners than other people are treated by them.
Having said the former, if you have a pet of any kind, you are everything that PETA hates automatically. If you eat meat, PETA hates you.
Now on the other hand...
If you eat meat, God loves you and has provided you with nourishment. If you have a pet, God loves you, and has blessed you with a friend. If you wear fur or leather, God has blessed you with clothes to protect you from weather, rocks, and other things that might hurt your soft skin. He wouldn't do that if he didn't love you.
I'd rather be affiliated with the unconditional love of God, than the intolerant and hateful creature that is PETA.
Make a joyful noise unto the Lord...not a pitch perfect, melodic, musically correct noise...just joyful.

I voted that Jenny has been in the glue again... The glue made of animal hooves. Bad, Jenny! Bad! Don't you remember what happened last time?
Anyway, back on topic: I don't think anyone is who truly interested in animal rights should be a part of PETA, given their "mercy killings" and other shadowy behaviour.
