This Just In: Earth Cooling!...?...! -
10-03-2013, 01:16 AM
We are now given to understand that the average temperature of the Earth has been cooling for the last fifteen years. This as reported by the scientists who discovered that the world was warming before it was cooling and the same who give us our evening weather prediction as well.
I live in a place where everyone knows it only rains about 15 days a year and yet the forecast is only right half the time. People want the weather men to talk about rain, so they do, and they forecast it too. It just fails to rain. They don't know if it is going to rain in a desert, but they know we're going to burn up or freeze in a hundred years.
I am somewhat suspicious of all reports of climate change and all weather forecasts too, for that matter.
I don't know what to think.
I do know this- these matters are up to God.

Well said, Brother. There is nothing we can do about future climate, it's up to God whether we'll have global warming, a new ice age, or no change at all. Scientists are simply wasting their time trying to forecast the future.

It's about time these Global Warming Hoax deniers got their comeuppance. They should all go back to their caves and lead a low carbon footprint life that they have been relentlessly trying to foist on the rest of us. Maybe their "evolution" will provide them with some body fur to keep warm (before they start begging for some coal before they freeze to death).
Hell's foundations quiver at the shout of praise;
brothers, lift your voices, loud your anthems raise.

Al Gore will be wanting to trade fur credits from his London exchange.
"Another Inconvenient Truth: Al Gore's Second Prophecy" may already be in the works.

It could be that the earth is cooling down. Don't you believe that we should be careful about what we eject into the air? I mean, the whole carbon dioxide thing is one, but all those gasses are still dangerous to our environment. Just look at the smog in China, it's no mistery that that is harmful.
I don't know about that whole global warming thing. But what I do know is that we should stop making this beautiful planet God gave us so incredibly dirty...

Why? How do you KNOW that?
The Bible says that God gave this planet and its contents to man to dominate and exploit. It says nothing about keeping it clean. God's going to destroy it at the end, anyways, so why bother?

This is good thinking, for an atheist.
Some days I like to go outside and dump motor oil all over the lawn and flowers to prove to nature that I am still its GOD-given master. Praise!

I think that is a very good question. maybe he gave it to us to exploid, and I am very grateful. You also seem to agree that polluting our environment is harmfull. But as I see it, I am so gratefull to god, that I want to thank him, and show him my appreciation by taking care of what he gave to us. Did he give us the birds for us to kill them by polluting our oceans with oil? Did he give us the beautiful stars for us to obscure them with smog so we can't enjoy the beauty of this immens universe made for us?
If you get a dog as a pet from your parents, do you neglect it because 'it will die anyway?'. If course the dog suffers, but I think you get the point.
To me, not taking care of this planet is like being ungrateful to god. I believe that will take me to hell.

There is no maybe, if you're a Christian. That's what the Bible says.

I never said nor even implied that. Stop putting words in my mouth, thanks.

When you find ONE verse in the Bible to support your position, please share it.

I am sorry if I was unclear. To elaborate on your response. What I meant with maybe is regardless of what it sais in the bible. And with that I don't mean to disregard the bible, but just to say that whatever will follow on my comment is not about what the bible sais on that topic. In this case, weather or not the bible sais global warming is fact or fiction, I believe we should take care of this planet. But again, that is how I see it.
If you don't agree with that statement I misunderstood you. My apologies. I didn't mean to put words in your mouth. I agree that that is a wrong way of debating.
I was simply asking the questions. Again, I don't know exactly what his plans are. I just believe that I should take care of what he gave us. I didn't meant to imply my visions on the bible.
In the end, what I am trying to say is that when I look at this beautiful planet and universe created for us, I feel bad when we are polluting it because to me it feels like we are being ungrateful of what he gave us. If you have a different point of view on this I am very interested to hear it.

And why should we follow you, and not God (who inspired the Bible)?

Sweetie, the Bible is our only source of knowledge about God. We have no other way of knowing what He wants. Therefore, since the Bible doesn't say we should take care of the world, it means that God doesn't want us to take care of the world.

We don't have our own point of view; we follow God's point of view. God isn't particularly attached to this world, anyway - He destroyed most of living things once, and He said He would eventually destroy the entire world.
