You're very right Petal, people pay lots of money to go swimming with sharks, usually to get a photo like that, they hang a nice hunk of meat overboard and then snap the picture when the shark jumps out after it.
As for the she-bears mentioned in 2 Kings, well those were sent by the Lord so they weren't afraid like they normally would be.
I'm glad you're studying your Bible so much

What a wonderful post, Petal. Did you also know that every kind of animal has been tamed?
James 3:7: For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind:
My grandson read that and now says that he wants a tame pet Komodo dragon for his birthday.

Petal,
You are doing some great study and it should be rewarded. I may have a little surprise for you in the next day or so.
I think many animals have reason to be "fraidy cats" because sometimes, Jesus makes them vessels to hold exorcised demons, and then send them running off cliffs to drown in the sea. He did it to 2000 pigs.
Mark 5:12-13
And all the devils besought him, saying, Send us into the swine, that we may enter into them.
And forthwith Jesus gave them leave. And the unclean spirits went out, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the sea, (they were about two thousand and were choked in the sea.
I have often wondered why we never see pigs near the ocean, so that may explain it.
YIC,
Sister Phebe.
There's Jesus here,
Just see what He offers me....
Down here my sins forgiven,
Up there a home in heaven
Praise God, That's the way for me!!

How absolutely glorious to see women and children reading the Bible and discussing the Word of our Lord!
He does use animals in mysterious ways. Like when Egypt was cold, God had Aaron bring up frogs from all the waterways in Egypt to form a cozy blanket for the whole country, even the Pharaoh's bedroom!
Quote:
Exodus 8:5-6
And the LORD spake unto Moses, Say unto Aaron, Stretch forth thine hand with thy rod over the streams, over the rivers, and over the ponds, and cause frogs to come up upon the land of Egypt.
And Aaron stretched out his hand over the waters of Egypt; and the frogs came up, and covered the land of Egypt.
|
I can only imagine what a mess that would be today, if the frogs didn't have the sense to stay off the roads. Eww.
Bible boring? Nonsense!

A lovely post Petal. Reminds me of one of my favorite animal verses
Genesis 1:21 And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth
Proverbs 19:25 Smite a scorner, and the simple will beware: and reprove one that hath understanding, and he will understand knowledge.
Ezekiel 16:14 And thy renown went forth among the heathen for thy beauty: for it was perfect through my comeliness, which I had put upon thee, saith the Lord GOD.
Proverbs 6:25 Lust not after her beauty in thine heart; neither let her take thee with her eyelids.
Genesis 24:16 And the damsel was very fair to look upon, a virgin, neither had any man known her: and she went down to the well, and filled her pitcher, and came up.
Song of Solomon 1:15 Behold, thou art fair, my love; behold, thou art fair; thou hast doves' eyes.

My favourite animal verse ....
Isaiah 11:6 (King James Version)
6 The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.
I am not really sure what it means tho.
Maybe Petal can help me in the interpretation.
2 Chronicles 7:14
14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land Australia.

i thought the holy word of God wasnt supposed to be interpreted...
18:12 How think ye? if a man have an hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray, doth he not leave the ninety and nine, and goeth into the mountains, and seeketh that which is gone astray?
18:13 And if so be that he find it, verily I say unto you, he rejoiceth more of that [sheep], than of the ninety and nine which went not astray.

Stop playing word games Mr SD.
I did not mean "interpret".
But because Petal is so in touch with the animals and with God, I knew she would be the right person to help me "understand" what God was saying in that verse.
I hope you are having a nice day today Petal.

Petal,
I was thinking about your post here and then thought back to Adam and Eve and that darn serpent.
Now he was obviously not a fraidy-cat because he is the one who tempted Eve, and boy, did God get mad over that!
Not only because of that situation, did God make Adam have to toil for his life and Eve be a constant reminder of just how silly some women can be, but God made that serpent squirm on its belly forever more!
Genesis 3:14
And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life:
That is quite a shock to a snake! Maybe that has a lot to do with why all animals are fraidy cats, because they also fear what punishment God may give to them too.
Now the other day I did say I would give you a reward for all your excellent study.
Here are several pictures you can print out and then make into your own Genesis 3 Story Board.
Now, if you read Genesis 3, you can put each picture where it belongs as you read along. I will admit that I have made it a bit tricky for you and mixed them up, but I am sure you will be able to work it all out just fine because you are very clever.
Have Fun!
YIC,
Sister Phebe.

i be real happy to shares what lord God layed on my hart, Miss.Charli! nows, first i reads that verse in contexts wiv some other verses, cuz that be what the pastors learned me to do! so i reads isaiah 11:7-9, an here be what it say
And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox. And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice' den. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea. <--- that be isaiah 11:7-9
so if you puts them verses togethers wiv the verse you posteds, then it mean that one day all the animals gonna be vegeitarians, an animals that not lurve each other now are gonna be bestest freinds, and childrens will be the boss of all of thems. nows, them verses made me thinks abouts all them nasty liddle creetures that kinda not be afraids of us, like wasps an publick lice (my big borther call them lices crabs). why come lord God put them icky an mean creetures in the garden of Edens? did Mr.Adam an Miss.Eve have the publick lices, but they were freindly lices back then, an they only becomed evil lices after lord God throwed Mr.Adam an Miss.Eve outta the gardens? cuz everythang an every creeture were good in the gardens, that be what the bibles say anyways.
so it not just gonna be lions an lambs an wolfs that the childrens gonna leads, it gonna be a real big parades, there gonna be wasps an tapeworms an lices an fleas an germs an ticks an stuff, an they all gonna be freindly, yay!

I'm sorry? If we can't interpret what were are told - be it by God, or another person - then how can we understand anything?
Furthermore, how can we justify following his Word (the teachings of the Bible) when we don't understand it?
Blindly 'following' the Bible really annoys me, and it can lead to very big trouble. Alright, in this case it's a fairly harmless thing, but try going around quoting the Bible blindly when homosexuality, abortion and other issues are raised and you're heading for trouble.

Irrelevant. Animals have no souls, and thus are not going to heaven no matter what they do.
