Hello! -
03-26-2013, 07:17 AM
Hello! My name is Lauren and I am twelve years old. I was brought up Protestant, like my father, and my mother was raised Catholic. I go to a Congregational Church in my town. I read the bible I was given in the fourth grade frequently and say my prayers before bed and meals. I am here on a personal study of the different branches of Christianity. I will most likely leave the website after a few short weeks, but I hope the friendly men and women here at Landover will welcome me with open arms for the short time that I am here.
God bless you!
Lauren

Welcome, Lauren. I hope you have your father's permission to be posting here. Have you found Jesus yet? What's your favorite Bible verse?
| Mt 21:42, 44 Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes . . . ? And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.

Reading the Bible in the 4th Grade, was it the KJV Bible?
If so, you have given me faith that some of your generation can still be literate.
I think your best start would be this thread it explains how we follow the KJV Bible to the letter and has links to other articles regarding our church.

What is the name of the parents who choose you to marry thier son?
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

Ah, I remember when I was 12. Life was a constant joy.Of course, I had already had instruction by my parents from birth in the Ways of the Lord, which are indeed mysterious. Our neighbour, Pete Harrison, who had set fire to his dog, sold drugs, and evicted a widow woman and her children 2 days before the Christmas of 1955, was now a millionaire, and that kindly spinster, Joanne Golightly, who had spent what little she had on helping the poor, had taken 3 years to die of Muscular Dystrophy. Yet The Lord, it was explained, had His Reasons for both of these decisions.
And here is the lesson: once you realise that you cannot understand God, yet God does everything for the best, and thus should be praised, I think you can count yourself a True Christian™

Hello Lauren! I sure hope you have your father's permission to be here. What is your favourite bible verse? Has your father picked a Godly husband for you yet?
12 is a wonderful age to be, you should start trying to improve your sewing, cooking and cleaning skills now so that when you get a husband you can be the best wife you can be ! If you have any questions, use the handy search function if no answers come up, feel free to ask.
Yours In Christ,
Mary Thompson.

Welcome to Landover Baptist Church forums little one!
You say you are Protestant. What do you mean by Protestant? Lutheran? Baptist? Evangelical? Methodist? It is important that we in the forum know.
