Default Soothing Scents: Burning Stuff Makes God Mellow - 03-05-2017, 11:24 PM

While God probably loves the smell of burning coal, he also loves the smell of many other things. Burnt offerings seem to satisfy God's olfactory fetish and the soothing smell of burned animals and other things.

God has a lot on his mind these days and we need to help him relax and we can do this by burning stuff. I know that LBC has sacrificial altars but my question is, should we have our own altars and should we as individuals be burning the stuff God savors?

Burning goats and sheep is something God simply loves. Clearly God is not some hippie vegan type and as we all know he much preferred Abel's animals to Cain's vegetables.

Mike Huckabee's godly son David sacrificed a dog and the liebruls went nuts!

The Bible is full of examples of burnt offerings and the Lord our God loving it.

Genesis 8:21
The LORD smelled the soothing aroma; and the LORD said to Himself, "I will never again curse the ground on account of man, for the intent of man's heart is evil from his youth; and I will never again destroy every living thing, as I have done.

Leviticus 1:9
'Its entrails, however, and its legs he shall wash with water And the priest shall offer up in smoke all of it on the altar for a burnt offering, an offering by fire of a soothing aroma to the LORD.

Leviticus 2:2
'He shall then bring it to Aaron's sons the priests; and shall take from it his handful of its fine flour and of its oil with all of its frankincense And the priest shall offer it up in smoke as its memorial portion on the altar, an offering by fire of a soothing aroma to the LORD.

Leviticus 3:5
'Then Aaron's sons shall offer it up in smoke on the altar on the burnt offering, which is on the wood that is on the fire; it is an offering by fire of a soothing aroma to the LORD.

Leviticus 4:31
'Then he shall remove all its fat, just as the fat was removed from the sacrifice of peace offerings; and the priest shall offer it up in smoke on the altar for a soothing aroma to the LORD. Thus the priest shall make atonement for him, and he will be forgiven.

Leviticus 6:15
'Then one of them shall lift up from it a handful of the fine flour of the grain offering, with its oil and all the incense that is on the grain offering, and he shall offer it up in smoke on the altar, a soothing aroma, as its memorial offering to the LORD.

Leviticus 8:21
After he had washed the entrails and the legs with water, Moses offered up the whole ram in smoke on the altar. It was a burnt offering for a soothing aroma; it was an offering by fire to the LORD, just as the LORD had commanded Moses.

Leviticus 23:13
'Its grain offering shall then be two-tenths of an ephah of fine flour mixed with oil, an offering by fire to the LORD for a soothing aroma, with its drink offering, a fourth of a hin of wine.

Numbers 15:14
'If an alien sojourns with you, or one who may be among you throughout your generations, and he wishes to make an offering by fire, as a soothing aroma to the LORD, just as you do so he shall do.

"AIDS is the wrath of a just God against homosexuals. To oppose it would be like an Israelite jumping in the Red Sea to save one of Pharaoh's charioteers ... AIDS is not just God's punishment for homosexuals; it is God's punishment for the society that tolerates homosexuals." Dr Jerry Falwell
