Now, onto the subject of the earth being round.
Back in the time when Jesus was alive, they had not the technology to prove the earth was round, and what was god to accomplish by telling the habitants of the earth that it was. It's one of gods many surprises he had in store for mankind, he wanted to see the delight on our faces when we discovered the earth was round, I mean the big man up there has to have a little enjoyment right? Cause hes got you liars prancing on his earth spreading false tales and misinterpreting the bible.

See this is the problem i have with you arrogant fools.
I prove you wrong, you demean me.
Monkey worshiper? I attend a christian church every sunday, thank you very much. I do not believe in evolution. But all of the sudden, with simple logic, i prove you wrong, that the earth is in fact flat, and instead of being man enough to admit you were wrong, you become a bully, and demean me. Swinging the trees with my mommy? What are you 5?
Get a life you antagonist. You're going to be the reason your people in your church are going to be condemned to hell.
People like you make me sick.
If i had a lead pipe and i was in front if you I would bash your kneecaps in your worthless piece of slime. You haunt this earth with your absolutely disgusting comments, and your arrogance to try and perfect other people's lives.
I swear if i ever see you in real life, you'll regret the day you came out of that hell hole that is your mother's vagina.
Luke 14:26 If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple

Thank you, demon.
Matthew 5:10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
5:11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
5:12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.
Here is a partial list from just a few scripture verses:
Hypocrites (Matthew 24:51), The Unforgiving (Mark 11:26), Homosexuals (Romans 1:26, 27), Fornicators (Romans 1:29), The Wicked (Romans 1:29), The Covetous (Romans 1:29), The Malicious (Romans 1:29), The Envious (Romans 1:29), Murderers (Romans 1:29), The Deceitful (Romans 1:29), Backbiters (Romans 1:30), Haters of God (Romans 1:30), The Despiteful (Romans 1:30), The Proud (Romans 1:30), Boasters (Romans 1:30), Inventors of evil (Romans 1:30), Disobedient to parents (Romans 1:30), Covenant breakers (Romans 1:31), The Unmerciful (Romans 1:31), The Implacable (Romans 1:31), The Unrighteous (1Corinthians 6:9), Idolaters (1Corinthians 6:9), Adulterers (1Corinthians 6:9), The Effeminate (1Corinthians 6:9), Thieves (1Corinthians 6:10), Drunkards (1Corinthians 6:10), Reviler (1Corinthians 6:10), Extortioners (1Corinthians 6:10), The Fearful (Revelation 21:8), The Unbelieving (Revelation 21:8), The Abominable (Revelation 21:8), Whoremongers (Revelation 21:8), Sorcerers (Revelation 21:8), All Liars (Revelation 21:8)

Pastor Zeke is not a homo. There's never even been a hint of homoism about him. Not getting your facts straight before you insult someone, now that's retarded, you homo.

The ancient Greek scientist Eratosthenes found that, on the longest day of each year, the Sun shone directly down a well in the city of Syrene. On the same day, it cast a shadow in Alexandria. He attributed this to a spherical Earth. He died 200 years before Christ was born.
Of course, Eratosthenes was wrong about why this happened (in fact it's because the Sun is much nearer to one point than the other as it moves about on the firmament of Heaven). Nevertheless, if the Earth had been a spherical object and the Sun quite distant, then the only technology that would have been required to prove that the Earth was in fact round would have been a water well. Last time I checked, those were around long before the time of Jesus.
Oh, and don't think you can fool us with your photoshopped images. Nice try, but you'll need to come up with something a lot more persuasive than that if you want to convince people that the Earth is not flat.

If we have misinterpreted any verse in the Bible, tell us what it is and what the correct interpretation is, and we will be happy to show you why we are right and you are wrong. Just levelling an accusation like that without proof, or even citing an example, is reprehensible.

I prove you wrong, you demean me.

You go around threatening to take out someone's kneecaps because he has a different religious beliefs, and yet you say that we demean you? You demean yourself, you sorry, petty little man.

Is your church a Bible-believing, full-immersion baptizing church? I didn't think so.
Quote:

You mean the kind of life where we go into other people's church forums and argue with them about whether the Earth is round? That desn't sound like a very fulfilling life to me.
Quote:
You're going to be the reason your people in your church are going to be condemned to hell.

Hey, you came into our forum to argue with us, not the other way around. Do you like being sick?
Quote:

So you think violence is the solution? Is that what your church teaches? Because our church teaches the words of Jesus:
I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you, Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you. And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other. Luke 6:27-29
You're no Christian, that's for sure.
Quote:
I swear if i ever see you in real life, you'll regret the day you came out of that hell hole that is your mother's vagina.
|
Well, that's a very Christian thing to say, Mr. I go to church every Sunday. Since we've got your IP address logged, I may just take a roadtrip to visit you. And I won't need a lead pipe to kick your ass.

That proves the mast before hull argument, Enigmatic Harpo Marx
|
You're well named aren't you?
I think it is worth noting that secular scientists arranged the battery so that the current in a battery flowed from negative to positive. This shows that once set upon a course, nothing will alter their fixed ideas and thus all work in science is designed to justify earlier mistakes.
The “mast before the hull” theory has long been debunked. Indeed, in a glaring discrepancy and without realizing he had done it, Einstein agreed that light waves were affected by gravity.
Although “gravity” is never mentioned in the Bible and things just go from high to low naturally, we can see that the light from a higher point takes longer to reach the ground than from a low point.
Thus we know that the light from the top of a mast will take longer to fall to earth than that from the hull – hence we have the True Christian™ explanation.

Round. Right. Ball. You convinced me. Sure.

If the scientists said they existed, Centeniel probably would believe in them, since he doesn't seem to be all that interested in discussing the evidence (or lack thereof) underlying his beliefs. Flying firebreathing lizards? What a ridiculous concept!

First things first -- are you insulting my education? I will have you know that I hold several advanced degrees, and have always been in the top 5 of my classes. I have studied at the best university in the world, and have written countless reports on various topics, always extremely well received. I will kindly ask you not to insult my knowledge and education.

Certainly you ended up back where you started, no one is questioning that (except for me--how can we be sure that you aren't a part of the conspiracy to undermine true science the world around?). It is certainly possible for one to walk unstoppingly and end up at the same location where they started. I don't understand what is so hard with understanding God's Word. He said it, it's true, end of story. Why do you have to look SO HARD to try to find something wrong? Relax, and the ride is so much better!

The roundness of the Earth was not discovered in this century, using strabge gizmos and scientifical gadgets.
It was discovered quite some time ago by Eratostenes of Cirene, using no modern devices but simple logic. In fact this ancient greek estimated the equatorial perimeter of the Earth in 40,000 Km (in 240 B.C. !!!!) using just sticks and ropes, and measuring shadows.
Now we know it's 40,075.
He did a great job, and he didn't wear a white lab coat. He just used that amazing tool called : BRAIN.
