Re: Don't Invite Some Poor Person to Christmas Dinner -

People are homeless because they are too lazy to buy a house.
Whenever some grubby guy stumbles up to me they always have a old cup full of money! What poor person can walk around with so much money they have to stick it in old coffee cups! So I'll lighten the burden and take the cup, spending it in a nice restaurant on a Porterhouse, leaving exactly 20% as a tip, assuming the wait staff is White. Any left over is given to The Church.
People seem to forget that Christmas is about Christ and not about others. We celebrate His birth and that means not giving what is His to the ungrateful.
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

Oh, "poor person", my aching feet! Does such a thing even truly exist? Oh, I know what some will be saying, about people sitting on the sidewalk, with a coffee cup held out to receive change, and how people should feel sorry for them. And, I will admit that I passed one of those slobs the other day when I was returning from the Piggly Wiggly. But, it was obvious to the world that he was as phony as a three-dollar bill! He was chatting up a storm on his cell phone gadget, and his pet German shepherd was by his side. If he has money for the latest electronic toy, and if he can keep an expensive dog, then he proves he is not poor. Yes, he did have a sign saying he is a veteran and that he suffers from PTSD, but we all know that anybody can make up any sign that they want and then put on an act. So, all he got from me is an official look of disapproval!
And, besides that, Christmas dinner is a time for having family members and friends in for the day -- a time of great merriment. With gift exchanges and much planning for the dinner, unfortunate people would feel out of place. They wouldn't be able to appreciate the work that goes into preparing for these celebrations. And, most importantly, feeding them would be an exercise in futility, because they will never take it upon themselves to improve their personal situation. The warned us about such unscrupulous persons!

Sister Isabella, you bring up such an important point. All this "War on Poverty" nonsense--Jesus did say that we would always have poor people. So trying to eradicate poverty is just an atheist scheme to go against Jesus.
Honestly! They will stop at nothing to try and refute God's Word and Authority.
The Bible tells us clearly that if you do not work, you do not eat. Begging on the streets isn't work--it's laying about in a state of sloth.
That is a sin right up there with gluttony. And that's another sin those people would be committing if everyone supplied them with food.
His left hand should be under my head, and his right hand should embrace me.

Oh, my, yes, I should say so, dear Sister Handmaiden. And the good knows that some people refuse to take on any responsibility in helping themselves. What's that old saying? helps those who help themselves! And inviting those poor slobs to mas dinner helps no one, because it does not get to the root of the problem. Why, it would be like trying to empty the Atlantic Ocean by scooping out the water with a sieve!
What those poor people really need is to stop moaning about their situation, clean themselves up, buy some decent clothing (and get a haircut, for goodness sake!) and then get down to the local job centre and apply for suitable employment somewhere. Other people have gone through tougher times, and they have survived, by looking for work and not expecting a welfare state to come to their rescue. Where would the woman in the video clip be if she had forsaken her pride by not acting on a common-sense duty to search for employment?

I'm sure all True Christians™ join me in disgust at Christians-in-name-only. There is a group up the road from Landover Baptist that qualifies. It's called Hope Lutheran Church.
Hope Lutheran is offering a free Christmas meal to anyone who asks. That church doesn't seem to understand the harm it does to moral character by persuading people they can get something for nothing. How many people will quite their jobs and think they can live off of the rest of us because of Hope Lutheran?
We at Landover Baptist turn away anyone who asks for free handouts. We want people to grow in their lives and understand Jesus wants them off their duffs and going to work.

We have enough people around the table already without adding to the chaos with random tramps. But around New Year, I always get one of the drivers to take the last of our Christmas leftovers down to the local pentecostalist shack. Those people will eat anything when they're hallucinating.
