Teacher Sues Over Mark of The Beast -
11-08-2009, 04:18 AM
Praise Jesus for stalwart Christians like THIS who resist satan at all cost.
Quote:
Polk County teacher suing state over fingerprinting
LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - A Polk County teacher is suing the state for requiring her to be fingerprinted for a background check, saying it violates her religious freedom.
According to her attorney, Scott Skelton, of Lufkin, Pam McLaurin believes the book of Revelation literally and that getting a fingerprint would bear her the mark of the beast and she would be "be tormented in burning sulfur."
McLaurin teaches at Big Sandy School District in Dallardsville, which is in Polk County.
Skelton said the case, which will be heard in the Lufkin federal court, is the only religious freedom case he knows of taken place in Lufkin and the only fingerprint case he is aware of in the United States.
Skelton said McLaurin, who has taught at the district for 20 years, is willing to undergo any other type of background check.
"She just doesn't want to be fingerprinted. That's all she doesn't want to have to do. She doesn't mind her background being checked out. She just doesn't want to submit to that. But TEA is not allowing an exception and so she is in this predicament," said Skelton.
He said the state is enforcing the rule on McLaurin, even though it is not supposed to go into effect until 2011.
Superintendent Kenneth Graham said the district will do whatever the state requires, but hopes it will allow McLaurin to continue teaching without being fingerprinted.
"A person's religious convictions are their own and we're not going to judge them as far as I'm concerned," Graham said. "My only consideration is that she does a good job for us and she is good for our children."
Wayne Haglund is the lawyer for the Big Sandy School District.
"The Constitution issues are very, very interesting, from a stand point of a conflict between a teacher's sincere upheld religious beliefs under the first amendment to the United States Constitution and the state's intent in providing a safe environment for children in the public schools," said Haglund.
Skelton said a preliminary injunction hearing is set in Beaumont on Nov. 12 to determine if the Texas Education Agency can terminate McLaurin's license.
Revelation 13:16-17 in the King James Version states, "He also forced everyone, small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on his right hand or on his forehead, so that no one could buy or sell unless he had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of his name."
Revelation 14:9-11 states, "A third angel followed them and said in a loud voice: "If anyone worships the beast and his image and receives his mark on the forehead or on the hand, he, too, will drink of the wine of God's fury, which has been poured full strength into the cup of his wrath. He will be tormented with burning sulfur in the presence of the holy angels and of the Lamb. And the smoke of their torment rises for ever and ever. There is no rest day or night for those who worship the beast and his image, or for anyone who receives the mark of his name."
Graham said McLaurin keeps her religious beliefs to herself and does not push them on students or other staff.
Skelton said McLaurin wished to not speak to the media about the matter.

This seems like a made up report, it says,
Quote:
Revelation 13:16-17 in the King James Version states, "He also forced everyone, small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on his right hand or on his forehead, so that no one could buy or sell unless he had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of his name."
|
This is not so, it actually says,
Re:13:16: And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:
Re:13:17: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
Moving on, this teacher seems to be from some weird cult that places private interpretation on the scriptures. Note that the verse says, “to receive a mark on his right hand or on his forehead, so that no one could buy or sell unless he had the mark,”
Fingerprints can be taken without leaving a mark on the hand; how else to the police get them off guns and stuff?
Now either the woman has the mark or not. She can tell by testing whether she can buy and sell.
The question here is, “What is her husband doing about this?” This woman wants a dose of True Christianity™

this teacher sounds mentally ill and should be evaluated for mental issues before being allowed to teach precious children
this site should be removed because it offends those who choose to have alternative lifestyles and beliefs and that is wrong and discriminatory and i know discrimination when i see it

So John Smith, to follow your flawed logic, anyone who has a religious belief is mentally ill?
Brother Ezekiel, this thread made me think about a sermon I once heard regarding Christians and tattoos.
The sermon focused on
Leviticus 19:28
Quote:
Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I [am] the LORD.
|
Joshua 24:15
And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.

I have a question: Would the mark of the beast most likely be a tattoo of something like a special barcode, or more like a microchip implanted in the skin? I'd say microchips would be more likely. In this day and age with ipods, iphones, GPS systems, and such - a little microchip in the hand to replace credit cards and drivers licenses would seem alluring to unbelievers. They're already implanting GPS tracking chips in dogs, so they could start implanting them into humans any day!
Psalm 18:3
I will call upon the LORD, [who is worthy] to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.

Re: Teacher Sues Over Mark of The Beast -

I can see chipping as a part in a system that will be used.Though not the only means of deception.
I also am seeing the trend in BIOMETRICS which is the references to fingerprints in the above article. There is also the move for what is called a UIN, Unique Identification Number. It is a 16 digit number that contains all of a persons personal, medical and confidential information. The chip is a transponder that holds all the information. More like a wallet of sorts. Though a wallet that has the capibility to track said person.
The fingerprinting mentioned in the above article isn't speaking of just leaving behind your fingerprint when you touch something, or a Book'em Dano type sitution.
Biometrics is the science and technology of measuring and analyzing biological data. In information technology, biometrics refers to technologies that measure and analyze human body characteristics, such as fingerprints, eye retinas and irises, voice patterns, facial patterns and hand measurements, for authentication purposes.
Authentication by biometric verification is becoming increasingly common in corporate and public security systems, consumer electronics and point of sale ( POS) applications. In addition to security, the driving force behind biometric verification has been convenience.
Biometric devices, such as fingerscanners, consist of:
- A reader or scanning device
- Software that converts the scanned information into digital form and compares match points
- A database that stores the biometric data for comparison
To prevent identity theft, biometric data is usually encrypted when it's gathered. Here's how biometric verification works on the back end: To convert the biometric input, a software application is used to identify specific points of data as match points. The match points in the database are processed using an algorithm that translates that information into a numeric value. The database value is compared with the biometric input the end user has entered into the scanner and authentication is either approved or denied.
There is more but I don't want to overstep my bounds as a brand new member. Though I must admit it was this very thread that lead me to join this forum.
I hope we can have a healthy discussion about some of the technology as various uses and just how and will it is being implemented.

Re: Teacher Sues Over Mark of The Beast -

I received a very thought-provoking email from a concerned Christian today, so I thought I would share it here.
Dear Pastor Ezekiel,
I came across your post today on your Godly forum and wanted to commend you for your compassion towards a sister in Christ that is coming forward and fighting for her religious rights that are still in our Constitution.
I find the articles on the internet very misleading making Pam McLaurin look foolish. But isn't that what the world tries to do? The issue here is not just fingerprinting, rather a system that Ms. Mclaurin see's forming and Biometrics playing a key roll next to the UID/UIN. That in the very near future could and most likely will be abused by whomever will be the antichrist.
Too many Christians in my opinion are not paying close enough attention or reading just a few articles on the net about Verichip and such and not seeing the bigger picture.
I have felt such compassion for the teacher that I contacted her myself just to let her know that she is not alone and I stand in agreement with her.She is going before a Federal Judge today. I pray that she continue's in her strength and conviction.
Quote:
Luke 21:12-16
"…they will lay hands on you and persecute you. They will deliver you to synagogues and prisons, and you will be brought before kings and governors, and all on account of my name. This will result in your being witnesses to them. But make up your mind not to worry beforehand how you will defend yourselves. For I will give you words and wisdom that none of your adversaries will be able to resist or contradict. You will be betrayed even by parents, brothers, relatives and friends, and they will put some of you to death."
|
Quote:
Mark 8:34-36
“Whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel’s will save it. For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?"
|
Quote:
Mark 13:11
“But when they arrest you and deliver you up, do not worry beforehand, or premeditate what you will speak. But whatever is given you in that hour, speak that; for it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit."

Just to be on the safe side I reckon we shudnt have our fingerprints taken but personally I reckon the mark of the beast is going to be a microchip. I'm building a bunker in a secret location and loading it with food, water and ammo for when the day comes that we are going to be hunted down like nigras running away from the cotton fields.
Upon the wicked he shall rain snares, fire and brimstone, and an horrible tempest: this shall be the portion of their cup. (Psalm 11:6)

The subject of the mark of the beast has been debated countless times over the centuries, but a microchip implanted in a hand (or forehead) seems a likely candidate. Let's look back at the Revelation quote in question...
Re:13:16: And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:
Re:13:17: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
From this we learn that the mark is 1) forced unto all people, 2) is either in/on the body and 3) it is required for selling. This sounds suspiciously close to what some people are saying may come about in microchips: being implanted in the human body and being able to make purchases with them. No longer would you have to use an ATM card, you could just swipe your hand over a machine.
Therefore there is good reason why people would suspect implanted microchips.

Someone from the DoF mentioned to me about Obama's war on terror. Someone thinks this idea of microchips in the skin (they're small and painless) would be a good way of confirming identity beyond doubt and the idea could be sold along the lines of an identity that couldn't be stolen and combined with "much other information". The Dept of Homeland Security like the idea but are worried about the Constitutional implications, but the discussions go on.

It turns out that Christine did not have her husband's permission to be posting here. I heard from him a short while ago. I imagine that she's getting a good Christian whipping right about now, Praise Jesus.
All's well that end's well.
