I hear all the time from so called "Christians" that the Holy Bible is not meant to be taken literally and is to be "analyzed for deeper meaning." This is disgusting. The Holy Bible is the Word of God, not some real book to be read and studied in a disgusting public school. The Bible is to be followed EXACTLY as written. If your parents gave you an order to do something, would you follow it exactly as told or "analyze it for deeper meaning?" Hopefully you would exactly as told. This is even more so for the Word of our Lord and Savior!

Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you. Deuteronomy 4:2

And he made a molten sea, ten cubits from the one brim to the other: it was round all about, and his height was five cubits: and a line of thirty cubits did compass it round about. 1 Kings 7:23
