11-29-2011, 04:11 AM
I've searched high and low to no avail -- I'm desperate at this point -- anyone know where I can get suckbut around here?

Demonic autocorrect! Should be "sackbut".

I don't understand. I know that to get lint etc. out of hard to reach places on my body I have to use a vacumn cleaner, but you're to skinny to need that.

Trent, I would have thought you'd just grease yourself up and let your beagles do the work. Saves on electricity.

Beagles? You mean those feral mutts and coyotes that lived under the bridge with me? Haven't seen them since I got the apartment.
It's a good thing I did, now that the occupy movement has taught us that living outside is such a threat to health and safety that a cloud of teargas is actually better.
Not that I'm going to complain if my landlord gets evicted, it will teach him to pick himself up by his bootstraps like a rugged individual and do something useful.

Dear Brothers,
Daniel 3:4-11:
Quote:
Then an herald cried aloud, To you it is commanded, O people, nations, and languages,
That at what time ye hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, dulcimer, and all kinds of musick, ye fall down and worship the golden image that Nebuchadnezzar the king hath set up:
And whoso falleth not down and worshippeth shall the same hour be cast into the midst of a burning fiery furnace.
Therefore at that time, when all the people heard the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and all kinds of musick, all the people, the nations, and the languages, fell down and worshipped the golden image that Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up.
|
I have the cornet and flute, I have the harp (obviously)... everything but the sackbut!
Yours in Him,
bab

Maybe also try Craig's List and eBay, although you might have to dig to find those Pythagorean tuning charts.
Quote:
Sackbut, tenor in Bb, B&M Symphonic (Böhm & Meinl), w/2 mouthpieces, modern bore profile, slide has some plating missing from socks, but works decently after being buffed smooth, finish in very good condition, hard case; these instruments are considered the bargain end of the sackbut market; $1350.

brothers, lift your voices, loud your anthems raise.

No kidding. Just look at how filthy this place is:
They're making a nice effort, but the only way to clean a mess with that is with fire.
