Fireside Chat With the Mayor, II -
01-25-2011, 02:25 PM
During these long winter nights, I thought it would be helpful to reflect on something important. During my campaign I discussed it but I have not seen the support in our town that I would have liked to have seen.
Now, I've found a kindred soul in a place called Kindred. It's far from Freehold, way up in Kindred, North Dakota.
The issue is prayer before meals in restaurants. We just do not do it enough in Freehold. I'd like to see every family, every couple and every single person eating alone in prayer before dining. Here is the Pastor's letter from Kindred:
http://www.inforum.com/event/article/id/306109/
There is one matter the Pastor did not discuss, the "drive-thru" window. When people eat in their cars, we just don't know if they take time to pray or not. Perhaps we could have a recorded prayer that was sent over the speaker at the order station. But, that's a matter for another day.
All the best during this beautiful winter season.

Dear Johny Joe Hold,
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. It brings a tear to my eye when I see people like The Rev. John Bergh say we should start our own Christian jihad.
Too many false Christians are starting to take God and everything God does for us for granted. Not only should we all pray at the start and the end of each and every meal, we should also pray before and after we eat snacks or drink a cup of coffee. Many people are too lazy for this and do not realize they are insulting God that way: "The hand of the diligent shall bear rule: but the slothful shall be under tribute." (Proverbs 12:24)
Yours in Christ,
Pastor J.C. Manning, M.D., Ph.D.
How to Study the Bible - About HELL! - The Miracles of Jesus - Biblical Facts - Scientific PROOF
THE BIBLE SAYS THERE IS ONLY ONE WAY TO HEAVEN!
Jesus said: "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." John 14:6
ONLY JESUS CAN SAVE YOU!
"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus,
and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him
from the dead, thou shalt be saved." Romans 10:9
1. Admit you are a worthless sinner. Romans 3:10
2. Be willing to turn from sin (repent). Acts 17:30
3. Believe that Jesus Christ died for you, was buried and
rose from the dead. Romans 10:9-10
4. Through prayer, invite Jesus into your life to become
your personal Savior, Boss, King and Lord. Romans 10:13
| What to Pray:
Lord Jesus, I know that I have sinned against you.
I know that I am not perfect and that I can never
please you through my own efforts. I know that I
deserve to be judged according to my sins. And, I
know that I have absolutely nothing to offer you.
Lord Jesus, I ask you to forgive me. I do not rely
on myself but only on you and I receive you as
Lord of my life and as savior of my soul.
Lord Jesus, please save me!
| Accepted Jesus as your Savior?
Now you need to:
1. Study your KJV Bible every day
to get to know Christ better.
2. Talk to God in prayer every day.
3. Be baptized, worship, fellowship,
and serve with other Christians
in a church where Christ is preached,
and the Bible is the final authority.
4. Tell others about Jesus Christ
until the day Jesus finally kills you.

Mayor, Is the city of Freehold allowed to levee city sales taxes on products sold within the city limits? If so, would you ever consider a ''prayer tax'' on fast foods? That way all persons buying fast food would have to acknowledge the need for prayer even if it is just a monetary acknowledgment. I am sure the Pastors will have some ideas on how the monies can be used to further the education of the masses about the need for prayer.
1 Chronicles 16:15
Be ye mindful always of his covenant; the word which he commanded to a thousand generations ... an everlasting covenant.
Proverbs 30:5,6: Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.
Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.

It has always baffled my that people think that the fries came from the kid standing by the deep fat bin, and, not from God.
When will they learn to be greatful?

The Mayor has brought up a vital point and I totally agree with his analysis. I would add that as long as the Godly Republicans are coming back into power we need to pressure the secular FDA (that seems to be obsessed with labeling every food item offered by the free market with useless nutrition information and defining just what "organic" means) for some True Christian™ government regulation. That's right, snack food, vending machines, ice cream cones, and the produce from Michelle Obama's White House vegetable garden need to be labeled with prayer reminders and that they all are ultimately a gift from God.
Hell's foundations quiver at the shout of praise;
brothers, lift your voices, loud your anthems raise.
...and get off my lawn

This is a probably a main tenet in the athian Religion. They probably have a little shrine to the fries-kid in their back rooms
