Oh, this is such a nice topic, dear Brother Mayor Hold, and I thank you for mentioning this. I suppose it's something that we all think of, every now and then; and, for those of us who are a bit "on in years", it is a topic that is close to our hearts. We never know when we shall hear the golden trumpet and then the call: "Come up hither!"
Revelation 4:1 "After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter."
When all is said and done, I think the most important thing is that we will, in fact, have a glorious home in heaven. Goodness, we would be free from the horrors that those unsaved reprobates will suffer for eternity, as they roast away in the fires of hell, screaming their heads off and getting exactly what they deserve.
Matthew 25:41 "Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels".
Why,
promises not only a home to
servants, but a grand home -- a mansion -- and all because He loves his servants at
so much!
John 14:2 "In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you."
As for what the mansion will look like, well, I'll leave that to the
to decide. However, I'm sure it will be a very nice place, with beautiful gardens, fountains, waterfalls, abundant sunshine and just enough rain to help my heavenly rose garden along. I have no doubt that
will be most gracious to us, providing us with homes that are just as nice (if not nicer) than the one in this photo:
The only real request is that I be given a nice cabinet for my parlor -- a place where I can rest my crown and other trinkets when I retire for the evening -- something similar to the attached photo.
James 1:12 " Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him."
I Peter 5:4 "And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away."
