Brothers and Sisters, once again a Godly man is being pilloried by the Liberal Media and even those that claim to be Christians! Todd Akin, a Christian Republican Congressman from Missouri, spoke the truth about rape and pregnancy and now he is being attacked from all sides.

This poor man is suffering the trials of Job just for speaking the truth!

(CBS/AP) ST. LOUIS - In an interview, Rep. Todd Akin, Missouri's Republican Senate candidate, has questioned whether women can become pregnant when they're raped.

St. Louis television station KTVI released an interview with Akin Sunday in which the congressman said that pregnancy from rape is "really rare." A video of the interview is posted on the station's website.

"If it's a legitimate rape, the female body has ways to try to shut that whole thing down," Akin said, according to The Washington Post.

Akin added: "But let's assume that maybe that didn't work or something. I think there should be some punishment, but the punishment ought to be on the rapist and not attacking the child."

Who could argue with that kind of rock solid, Godly logic? Well, it seems Mitt Romney can! Look at this!

Sunday evening, Romney campaign spokeswoman Amanda Henneberg issued a statement saying, “Governor Romney and Congressman Ryan disagree with Mr. Akin's statement, and a Romney-Ryan administration would not oppose abortion in instances of rape.”

The article goes on to mention that Paul Ryan has stated in the past that he is against all abortion, even if the pregnancy resulted from rape. Then, Govenor Romney personally attacked poor Todd Akin here.

In an interview with National Review published Monday morning, presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney offered a sharp rebuke to Akin. “Congressman’s Akin comments on rape are insulting, inexcusable, and, frankly, wrong,” Romney told National Review. “Like millions of other Americans, we found them to be offensive.”

Can you believe that? Mr. Romney is publicly persecuting a Christian! I am beginning to think that the Republican nominee should be Paul Ryan instead of Mitt Romney. Mitt is sounding more and more like a Democrat every day!

Todd Akin would not have said such a thing unless it was backed by thousands of qualified physicians. It's not like he just read something out of a pamphlet and then repeated it without checking to see if it was true! That's not the kind of man Todd Akin is!

Exactly, Akins sits on the House Science Committee. The man is a TRUE Christian scientheists and wouldn't say something like this unless the maths backed him. The anti-rape pregnancy off switch has been known about since the 13th Century.

At some point before 5pm CDT [Tuesday], Akin will file papers to formally withdraw his name from the ballot. I realize [Monday] Akin was defiant and said he wasn't a "quitter." His supporters claim he will stay in the race because he views his candidacy as "providential", but this is just the bluster before the end. Everyone is entitled to 24 hours to try to right their ship, but Akin did nothing today to cauterize the wound. When Reince Priebus, Ann Coulter, NRSC and Tea Party Express are all united in saying you should quit, you've pretty much run out of options.

The God-mockers, naturally, are calling all this "hypocrisy":

Last year, while Mitt was still trying to figure out what position on abortion to stake, Paul Ryan co-sponsored legislation to change federal restrictions on abortion funding. Instead of limiting it to “rape”, it would be limited to “forcible rape”. And it wasn’t just a couple of Tea Party extremists on board:

. . . the “No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act,” a bill with 173 mostly Republican co-sponsors that House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) has dubbed a top priority in the new Congress, contains a provision that would rewrite the rules to limit drastically the definition of rape and incest in these cases.
With this legislation, which was introduced last week by Rep. Chris Smith (R-N.J.), Republicans propose that the rape exemption be limited to “forcible rape.”

Or, I suppose, “legitimate rape”. Since that’s what Akin explained that he meant to say:

“I was talking about forcible rape, and it was absolutely the wrong word,” Akin said.

What does that mean? The only “legitimate rape” involves physical force. Coercion? Date rape drugs? Inability to give consent (minors, mentally disabled or otherwise incapacitated)? Not legitimate rape. If it’s not physically forced, it’s not rape to Akin. Nor is it to Ryan. Nor to most of the Republicans in Congress.

Successfully tying Ryan and most Republicans to “legitimate rape” could cost the Presidency and more than a few seats in the chambers.

We know that those other candidates, like Steelman and Brunner, could beat McCaskill easily. Probably by at least the eleven points that Akin was ahead last week.

But Akin is still 1 point ahead, and he's the only honest Christian (NOT a Catholic) of the bunch. He deserves our support, and needs to stay in the race! He's the True Conservative that we must support. If we get a RINO like Steelman or Brunner, we might as well have McCaskill anyway.
