Hello, fellow disciples of Christ -
08-03-2014, 02:57 AM
My name is Timmy Selway. I'm 22 years old, born in Four Oaks, North Carolina, but now living in this hellhole known as Los Angeles. I was directed here by a friend who told me Landover Baptist was one of the highest-quality Christian communities on the Internet. I've always been a firm believer in the words of our Lord, but recent times have forced me to seek refuge away from civilization as I find my fellow brothers and sisters to be morally bankrupt and led astray from the teachings of our Christ.
When I first arrived in this city back in 2010, I did the first thing any God-loving man would do and visited the nearest church. Imagine the look of horror on my face when I walked into the chapel and see a woman preaching to my fellow Americans. This woman, this false prophet, was no disciple of God, none of these people were. I remember breaking down crying and a woman walked over to me and asked me if I had been touched by Christ's teachings. I told her right then and there that no one in this place was holy, that they had betrayed the word of the Lord and were indulging in sin. She tried to bumble out some excuse, but I already had seen and heard too much and I quickly made my way back to my truck and back home in the woods. When I saw the banner outside with a rainbow telling me that gays were welcome, it was like a shot in the heart. How could these people claim to be believers of God when they openly defy his teachings and warnings against the homosexual disease and women?
I already had to leave both of my parents due to them following the wrong path (Jehovah's Witness) and now I see that my own community isn't Christian? This is when I discovered Landover Baptist, and while I may not be able to make you guys my physical home, I am glad I at least have a place where I know I am among smart people. I've hesitated joining in the past because I wasn't sure if I'd be welcome here, but after reading around, I know I'm going to fit in just fine.
Now, I don't have a favorite Bible verse, as picking any specific one would be to diminish the importance of the entire book, but one that strikes me as terribly relevant around these parts is 4 James 14:15 "Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: and the prayer of faith shall save him that is sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, it shall be forgiven him."

Welcome, friend!
it is a good thing that you have learnt to keep way from the gaywise. The Bible tells us very clearly about this anal/rectal conundrum.
Leviticus 18:22 "Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination."
Leviticus 20:13 "If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them."
Romans 1:26-27 "For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet."
I hope you can use the Bible as your sole point of reference for all things of a anal nature.

1 Corinthians 11:3 But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.
Revelation 22:15 For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.
Leviticus 20:13 If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

Thank you, doctor. I personally find it repulsive that our society so openly indulges in sin and feels as though they can just say a thoughtless prayer at night and that all will be forgiven. You speak nothing but the truth, as your words are the Lord's. I have attempted to warn my homosexual community members that there is no room in heaven for sinners. They tell me, they tell me that God forgives all sins, that the Bible is not meant to be taken literally, but they are wrong. God cannot forgive a sin when these people do not even acknowledge that the plague of homosexuality is real. God may forgive, but I'm just His disciple, so I don't have to.

Welcome, Mr. Selway!
The hardest obstacle to salvation is for many young man such as yourself indeed to unwillingness to give up sodomistic pleasures for JESUS! Congratulations on managing that issue !
What a nice introduction and glad to see healthy Godly opinions in the youth of our present day of SIN-infested society.
One worry, though... I'll be praying on that for you. The ginger hair seen in your otherwise handsome smooth face, a perilous choice but certainly treatable with prayer.
Luke 12:7 - But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows.
Yours in Christ,
Elmer
2 Kings 18:25 - Am I now come up without the LORD against this place to destroy it? The LORD said to me, Go up against this land, and destroy it.

While my flesh is tempted to accept your kind words, my spirit reminds me that pride goeth before destruction (Proverbs 16:18). You'll not find any proud here. Or independent thinkers. We know the Good Lord, in His Sovereignty, has pre-thought all thoughts for us. We merely seek His Wisdom, for He gives it freely to those who walk in Righteousness (Proverbs 2:6).
Welcome to our forums, dear.
Hello, my name is Mary. I hope to fellowship with you! That is, unless you don't listen to church authority (Deuteronomy 17:12); are a witch (Exodus 22:17); are a homosexual (Leviticus 20:13; Romans 1:24-32); or fortuneteller (Leviticus 20:27) or a snotty kid who hits their dad (Exodus 21:15); or curses their parents (Proverbs 20:20; Leviticus 20:9); an adulterer (Leviticus 20:10); a non-Christian (Exodus 22:19; Deuteronomy 13:7-12; Deuteronomy 17:2-5;Romans 1:24-32); an atheist (2 Chronicles 15:12-13); or false prophet (Zechariah 13:3); from the town of one who worships another, false god (Deuteronomy 13:13-19); were a non-virgin bride (Deuteronomy 22:20-21); or blasphemer (Leviticus 24:10-16), as God calls for your execution and will no doubt send you to Hell, and I have no interest developing a friendship with the Spiritually Walking Dead.

Thank you for your kind words. I understand if my ginger hair may prevent people here from accepting me, but I can assure everyone that I am no agent of the father of lies. I have walked in shame for over twenty-two years while doing my best to atone for the sins of my father and brothers, who have forsaken our Lord. Their sins are carried through to me, but it is my duty to cleanse myself of these grave sins. But I have no right to be angry at God, for He is not the one who sinned, He is not the one who damned me before birth. It is my parents for which I hold pity. Pity that they have turned away from God and toward the Devil's tricks, like video games and reality television. I can only thank our Lord God for showing me the true path to salvation, even if I may never be saved. I am steadfast in my belief that this mark of shame is a test of my faith, to test my conviction to God's Word, and that I may one day I may be lifted of this burden, but my conviction will never falter, regardless of the outcome.

Welcome Timothy. I am sure you will find comfort and reassurance here. I also hope you will learn how to occasionally divide your monologues into separate paragraphs.
Of course you can be saved. Cursed though you may be, you can be saved if you believe in the power of Jesus.
John 10:9 I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.
Mark 2:10 But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins
The prayers of the True Christians here at LBC are extra powerful (1 Peter 3:12). Although I don't live in Freehold, I have found that the few thousand dollars I have tithed have made a huge difference in my life. I suggest you do the same.
Humbly,
Wally

Sadly, most self-professed "Christians" are spiritually anemic, ignoring the teachings of the Holy Bible that don't suit their own preconceived notions about what it means to walk in Christ's footsteps, just as the LORD told us would happen in II Timothy 4:3-4. They have itching ears and wander after their own lusts instead of giving to the LORD what He demands of us: fear and obedience.
Deuteronomy 13:4
Ye shall walk after the Lord your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him, and cleave unto him.
Isaiah 50:10
Who is among you that feareth the Lord, that obeyeth the voice of his servant, that walketh in darkness, and hath no light? let him trust in the name of the Lord, and stay upon his God.
2 Corinthians 7:15
And his inward affection is more abundant toward you, whilst he remembereth the obedience of you all, how with fear and trembling ye received him.
Philippians 2:12
Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
These CHristians-In-Name-Only (CHINOs) just like the idea of being a Christian. They don't like actually following through with what the Bible teaches. More often than not, it's just a matter of making appearances and trying to be socially acceptable by following whatever the predominant religion of their region happens to be. If they were Indian, they'd worship cows. If they were Chinese, they'd worship their ancestors and bow down to statues of dragons and fat men. They don't like to be reminded of all the details in the Bible, because if religion were about Truth for them rather than easy answers to complex questions, it's not something they'd actually choose to believe in, as if fidelity to the LORD and His commandments is something anybody who truly fears for their eternal soul has a choice over. Instead, they just make their own watered down, palatable version of "Christianity Lite" and think their souls are out of danger. But they too shall have their part in the lake of fire, where their worm dieth not and their thirst shall never be quenched.
To be honest with you, I'm not even sure why the LORD wants us to do many of the things He commands. They're not things that I would choose for myself. But I was born into sin; He is LORD. It's not important that I have reasons, and it's not my place to question Him. I am utterly terrified at the prospect of hell, just as the LORD wants me to be, and I will do whatever He demands of me. And I will thank Him for the privilege of being His servant, putting His desires above my own (Romans 6:18). It's not important that we understand why God wants what He wants. All that matters is that we obey. Fear and obey.
When we can't understand His ways, we may yet rejoice in His promises. Praise!
II Thessalonians 1:7-9
And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,
In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:
Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power
The man who is being progressively sanctified will inescapably sanctify his home, school, politics, economics, science, and all things else by understanding and interpreting all things in terms of the Word of God and by bringing all things under the Dominion of Christ the King. -R.J. Rushdoony

Welcome, Christian.
We are friendly here.
I am sorry you have to live in godless Los Angeles, which is part of godless California. My first advice to you is to leave as soon as possible so as to avoid the coming punishment of that wretched country. I expect the entire state to be swallowed up in the Pacific Ocean before long and it would be unwise to be present at that time.
You must have suffered quite a shock when you arrived in that hellhole, coming as you do from a godly state. It is too bad that your parents were led astray, but I know you are used to living in an area that is thick with Christians. Seeing as many Devil worshippers as you used to see Christians must be quite a shock.
Please give us more of your testimony. Survivor's tales are always interesting.
God Bless!
God judgeth the righteous, And God is angry with the wicked every day- Psalm 7:11
