Christmas is approaching, and I'm sure you have all seen this famous Lego box and thought it was a marvelous gift idea:



But, you know what? After this picture has circulated on the Net for half a year, Lego has finally decided to issued a press release denying any knowledge of the product:

An image of a false LEGO box is currently being circulated across the world via e mail. The picture of the box is computer manipulated and in the picture LEGO elements are used to depict the Prophet Mohammed in a situation of a sexual nature – with a severely offensive text.

The LEGO Group wants to stress that there is no such LEGO product, and that the company totally condemns the picture and the manner in which someone has made use of the LEGO products and brand.

That's really nice damage control, Lego. It only took you half a year.

This is very bad news. I had planned to purchase that set for each member of the LBC youth group this Christmas. I guess Lego just lost several million True Christian customers!

Political correctness has gotten out of hand. The liberal MSM can attack Christianity all they like and get away with it, but let anyone tell an inconvenient truth about the mooselimbs, and people rush to see who can apologize the most. And they say that Christians aren't persecuted.

If fact they are working with the Danish police to track down the forgers. From another LEGO press release:

"In some cases these pictures can be hurtful, and recently a computer manipulated illustration of the prophet Mohammed using LEGO elements has appeared on the internet. We would like to express our sympathy with anyone who is hurt by this. It is not at all in our interest that people are insulted by illustrations made with LEGO bricks.

We have no information as to who is or might be behind this action. Unfortunately, we have very limited legal possibilities to prevent these people from expressing their views using our products and even our trademark. This goes for religious, political and satirical issues. We are, however, working with the Danish police in this recent specific matter."

Evidently it's going to be hard for the Danish police, now that the image is more than half a year old. I must therefore urge my True Christian™ brethren and sistren to post the faked image as many places as possible in order to assist the police.
