I need to refresh my knowledge on the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, but if I remember correctly even in international waters it is illegal to cause a disability to a person.

Tell that to the hundreds of surgeons who remove limbs on the operating table every day.
Hello, my name is Mary. I hope to fellowship with you! That is, unless you don't listen to church authority (Deuteronomy 17:12); are a witch (Exodus 22:17); are a homosexual (Leviticus 20:13; Romans 1:24-32); or fortuneteller (Leviticus 20:27) or a snotty kid who hits their dad (Exodus 21:15); or curses their parents (Proverbs 20:20; Leviticus 20:9); an adulterer (Leviticus 20:10); a non-Christian (Exodus 22:19; Deuteronomy 13:7-12; Deuteronomy 17:2-5;Romans 1:24-32); an atheist (2 Chronicles 15:12-13); or false prophet (Zechariah 13:3); from the town of one who worships another, false god (Deuteronomy 13:13-19); were a non-virgin bride (Deuteronomy 22:20-21); or blasphemer (Leviticus 24:10-16), as God calls for your execution and will no doubt send you to Hell, and I have no interest developing a friendship with the Spiritually Walking Dead.

Surgeons only amputate when the limb poses a serious risk to the persons life or if it has become unusable and a risk of life threating infection.

So there does exist reason to compel someone to permanently disfigure another, if it is to save his life, for example?

And what about the dot Injun spider kid?
Operated on, not to save a life, but for purely cosmetic reasons.

Oh, you mean based on the worthless piece of paper - because the declaration is not legally binding, and thus is violated often and without any punishment by many countries ( including the US)?
Oh, you're so funny, sweetie!

Excuse me sir, do you mean me? Because I am Mrs. Johnson, and my husband is a bit confused. He thinks not, because I am not your neighbor given that we live in California, but that is his last name, and I am the Mrs. He told me to ask you. If I have done anything to offend you, please let my husband know. He'll discipline me accordingly, as he should!
Worriedly yours in Christ,
Mrs. Elizabeth Johnson

I think you can relax, Mrs Johnson. Cranky Old Man has a neighbour called Mrs Johnson who is possibly a witch - at least a widow. Which you are clearly not! I'm sure he spends half his waking hours, hatching plots to dispose of her.

Thank you for reassuring us. We were quite worried since my husband is urgently waiting for me to go into labor to birth his child (hopefully a son!) and he wants me around to get him his beer and sandwich.
Yours in Christ,
Elizabeth

Elizabeth dear, I think you need to explain the length of the human gestation period to your husband. As I recall, you were only married in November, so there is really no need for him to be "urgently" waiting for you to go into labor for some months yet. Unless, of course, there is something you have not told us?

Oh, dearie me, I forgot to tell him that he does not need to be urgent. I assure you that he only seeded me after we were married! How should I tell him, because he hates being pestered by my foolish female thoughts?

I can't really advise you, Elizabeth, as my own husband shows a thoroughly healthy lack of interest in such matters. Maybe if you found one of those online "due date calculators" and asked him to help you use it? 1 Corinthians 14:35.
But we are going off-topic here - this sort of thing should really be confined to the Ladies' section of the boards.
