God explains that no-one lives just for themselves. There are people who try to, Henri Paul Gauguin (dissolute French wastrel) being a good example of the type. In fact he actually went and lived on an island to pursue his muses which he painted sometimes wearing floral prints. But usually not. Whose benefit was the adventure for?
Here we have a typical market scene from the Society Islands in French Polynesia. See how little they have to offer? Two non-descript fruits, a piece of soap and one flower. They'd make more by selling their clothes which, if his other paintings are anything to go by, is a circumstance Gauguin took full advantage of. These islands have had French influence which almost certainly means papist influence. Whether it "took" or not I don't know but whether it did or not the lifestyles available,
1) depraved French narcissist
2) Romish heretic
3) savage, in no way acknowledged Jesus as Lord of the living and placed self first and central as an island of lust in a sea of fleshly invitation. No wonder they look so miserable!
ROMANS 14 .KJV . look up
7 For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself.
8 For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's.
9 For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living.
Now these islands are sinking. The secular press claims that "sea level rise" and "climate change" are the cause. But other coastlines of the same ocean show no such sea level rise. The water is not rising 3
.–
.4 times faster in one spot but not rising at all in others. That is idiotic. But that IS the claim.
Quote:
sea levels across small island nations.….have seen a dramatic rise over the past few decades, a rate of up to 3.–.4 times larger than the global average.….“There only remains a few years before we exceed carbon dioxide levels that will make temperature rise to levels that will see many parts of the Pacific disappear,” the president of Nauru, Baron Waqa, said during a meeting with Pope Francis at climate talks in Germany this month.….there’s already been a few very small islands that people have left and climate impact has been one of the factors. It’s probable that it will happen again

I've highlighted the bit about climate impact. When people shrug off Jesus and the very painful sacrifice He made for us which included whipping and reject the love He has for us, things go badly wrong. Could the combination of negligible clothing, French artists living the island lifestyle you rightly denounced, hobnobbing with a pope and denying the science of water seeking its own level result in God sinking the Society Islands? Hence my question. Thanks for replying.
