I think that this is the problem. I think it is essential that the jury is made up of "people like you" - and to be frank, Darkies are not like me.

I don't see the problem here.

I note that there are a lot of things you don't understand but, unfortunately, this does not stop you from offering your worthless and unChristian opinions.

If a black person is being tried shouldn't he be judged a by jury of his peers?

Obviously not - that would be like having a jury of children trying another child - would they even understand what was going on? Would they know right from wrong? Would they be able to pay attention for more than a few minutes?

Does race inherently matter?

Well God thinks so - He asks, rhetorically
Jer:13:23: Can the Ethiopian change his skin, or the leopard his spots? then may ye also do good, that are accustomed to do evil.
And we only have to look to the OT to see how many races were either slaughters or the slaughtered.
And, famously, Jesus knew all Samaritans were irredeemable - that is why he chose the parable.
And Paul, was clear on how the race on Crete should be viewed: Ti:1:12: One of themselves, even a prophet of their own, said, The Cretians are alway liars, evil beasts, slow bellies.
