Maybe she doesn't have toadstools, but she I'm fairly sure she has plenty of other fungal growths.

That looks like ½ dozen Amanita muscaria (and 1 death cap) with the cake thing.

I don't even know if I am allowed to enter this bake-off or not -
Either way I would love to have the opinion of you good ladies!
I know my talents aren't as great as some of the other contributioners I have seen here - but pray tell me - can I even serve this at our annual Easterfest?
It was supposed to resemble a Cross - but oh dear - I must have used to much butter in the process...
Yours in Christ
Eva

I don't see any reason that you can't enter.
I'm sure it tastes delicious, even if it is a bit misshapen

Thank you, how sweet of you
My husband didn't look to impressed, but I hope he will forgive me, once he's had a slice

Oh those? No, they are very finely chopped almonds! - i chopped them all individually, by hand

Thank you for confirming that.
I know you'll understand how we need to be alert given some of the "ingredients" around nowadays. I've checked your .. er ..what do you call it? ..and was happy to see it seemed to be more-or-less the right colour.

That would explain a lot. One can only pray that too many of the former do not lead to a "tragic" accident with the latter, as I am sure you would all miss her.

Yes, it's amazing what some people will do with toadstools. Especially after that absinthe "mishap" not too many years ago

Yes of course I have noticed that baking a cake in accordance with the true message of easter, can be quite difficult at times...

Do forgive me - again I'm having language trubbles ( I do hope you will bear with me) You have checked a-what-now?

I have got my technical advisor, who happens to be here this evening, to scan your pastry (I don't know the Swedish name for it) and the amount of green is quite low, I am told.
Sometimes there are green bits. Cakes shouldn't be green.
@ Naomi Ruth Lamb - please do not chop up the toadstools, just send them around whole and I can dispose of them appropriately, thanks

Oh, well I'm sure pleased that it meets the right standard... somewhat anyway.
I think the right name for it in danish, would be a "korskage", if anyone would care, but never mind my silly language

It looks delicious and hardly green at all. What is interesting is how much it reminds me of the Italian Easter cake called the Colomba, which is supposed to represent a dove in flight.
Who would have thought that two such different cultures could come up with such similar cakes!

I prefer yours, Eva. The other one, though a good shape, has what I'd describe as the Chernobyl effect. Cakes shouldn't glow in the dark, should they - unless the candles are lit.

Thank you, and you are quite right. The other one actually looks toxic - perhaps it's best to keep it simple
