It must surely have pained the Lord to see His former favorite continent, Europe, descent from a shining beacon of Christian love into the Godless, fag-enabling hellhole that it is now. Nonetheless, we see more and more signs that the Holy Spirit is doing a great work in Europe. Here is the latest sign of the coming European great awakening. Even better, it's happening in Amsterdamned, Kingdom of the Netherregions, long known as the most depraved spot on earth.

Amsterdam's cannabis-selling coffee shops face crackdown

Coffee shops legally selling cannabis have been a feature of Amsterdam's streets for more than 30 years, a magnet for younger tourists and a symbol of the Dutch brand of liberal exceptionalism and fanatical hatred for God.

But the fragrant haze found in the city's 200 or so establishments could be dispersed under plans by the incoming government, which is looking to roll back the "tolerance policy" that has allowed such shops to operate since 1976. Coinciding with a tightening of laws regarding prostitution - another tolerated industry - the authorities' new stance on cannabis is raising questions about whether Dutch society is moving away from laissez-faire traditions, which have included some of the earliest gay-friendly policies in Europe and the provision of free contraception to teenage girls.

Certainly the outlook for coffee shops is bleak. Among the few policies that the three parties in the new coalition government agree on is the need to reduce their numbers. The governing agreement released last week laid out plans that will force them to become members-only clubs and shut down those shops located near schools.

The coalition is also advancing the idea of prohibiting the sale of cannabis to non-Dutch residents, which amounts to a death knell for many coffee shops.

"The liberal consensus that helped create those policies - that's gone now. The pragmatism has been replaced by increasingly moral politics, in a way which is reminiscent of what happened in the United States with the 'moral majority' in the 1980s," said Andre Krouwel, a political scientist at the Free University in Amsterdam.

Did you catch that last paragraph? The Lord is raising up a moral majority right in Satan's parlor. Praise His glorious name!

Who would have thought the Dutch would ever return to the morality that they abandoned many years ago? The achievements of our Godly War on Drugs have obviously emboldened the few remaining True Christians™ of that desolate land.

With even the Dutch putting down their marihuana cigarettes and picking up the Holy Bible, we can be assured that Christian morality shall endure for many years to come.

Here's another example. The city of Milan, Italy, fomerly best known for sodomite fashion designers, has stopped being politically correct and granting special rights to those who have made the Gypsy lifestyle choice.

MILAN - This venerable city, long known for savory saffron risotto and the leggy models of Fashion Week, is moving to establish itself as something else: a zero-tolerance zone for Gypsies.

Anti-Gypsy campaigns in neighboring France have sparked international criticism, with officials there in recent months deporting more than 1,000 ethnic Roma - a clannish people migrating west in large numbers from Eastern Europe. But with great bravado, Milan is taking the lead in responding to Italy's own "Gypsy Emergency."

Blaming rising crime on the new waves of Roma immigrants, authorities are moving to dismantle Milan's largest authorized Gypsy camp, Triboniano, a teeming shantytown of street musicians and day laborers that officials decry as a den of thieves. At the same time, Milan is bulldozing hundreds of small, impromptu camps inhabited by newer arrivals and issuing mass eviction notices to Roma families living in another long-established camp in the city's largest immigrant neighborhood.

"These are dark-skinned people, not Europeans like you and me," said Riccardo De Corato, who is Milan's vice mayor from Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi's ruling party and who is in charge of handling the camps. He later added: "Our final goal is to have zero Gypsy camps in Milan."
