Brothers,
In my pious, Christlike Baptist Church where someday I will be a youth minister, today's sermon was dynamic, uplifting, and unlike other Baptist churches I know, wasn't all about how much tithes should be increased or asking for airplanes. No; it centered on CHRIST and His Love for me.
I learned today that Jesus loves me and knows me by name. He thought of me while He was dying on Cavalry, and as the thorns pierced His Brow, my sins were being taken away little by little, defeating death, darkness, and the devil. GLORY! Yes, Salvation® is about ME, ME, ME, for God kneweth every person that would someday be born, and I was. His nail-scarred Hand was reaching out to me that Good Friday, and as we remember Him and others who have passed on when Memorial Day comes around this year in just a few short weeks, we should lay a wreath at His Grave, even though it is empty because He arose. Our Savior liveth.
I heard His Voice today as I sat in that padded pew. He whispered gently: "Larry, I love you with a love that is great, yea, even a love that is great and strong. I love you with a love that is everlasting, even unto all eternity. I need you, Larry. Fellowship with Me every day. Praise Me at all times. Oh, sure, I love others, too, but know that in My Book of Life, I keep your name at the top."
(He told me to picture a thumbs up at that moment, and I wept a small manly tear)
I've said it before, but I must say it again: God is SO Good! Won't you glorify His Name with me for His love for me? \0/
