Hello again Dana. It's always a pleasure reading what esteemed Prof. White and valued equine gnathologist Brother Larry write about God's word. I was just pondering ants in the home. God gave a certain parcel of land
to the descendants of Abram
Genesis 15:18 although these had not been born yet. Actually Abram had no children at all, then. So there was plenty of time for anyone hanging around to go somewhere else. This was not very long after the flood
Luke 3:34-36 and plenty of room was available for the Kenites, Kenizzites, Kadmonites, Hittites, Perizzites, Rephaims, Amorites, Canaanites, Girgashites and Jebusites to co-exist peacefully. Somewhere else. Not on land promised to someone else.
Ants do live around here, outside, and are not a nuisance in any way. As a people I know I should respect them. The heathen swarms usurping God's authority
.—
.they'd be rather small swarms in so few
generations
.—
.were a serial pest effectively biting and stinging the Israelites at every opportunity. That is very disrespectful and such a pest needs to be eliminated. God explained how that was to be achieved.
It would not be inconsistent with God's commandment to treat disrespectful ants in the home, attempting to steal food and sting you, just as those serial pests were dealt with in accordance with God's instructions. That would not mean ants were useless for instruction
as a people, I thought, but
some of them seeking to usurp authority in the home would be more like those usurping tribes who mocked God by living in the cities they'd built even after God transferred ownership to Israel.
I hope this point is answered, it will be interesting for both of us.
