As far as I know, nobody claims the Harry Potter books to be the Word of God. On the other hand, there are millions of people who believe that the Bible is the Word of God.

Hint: you can start by actually reading it. Have you heard this expression, "don't judge a book by its cover?" Exactly. Read the Bible, and then we can have an intelligent discussion about its contents and whether these contents are trustworthy or not.

The people who read Harry Potter don't make up a huge voting block in this country.


The people who read and believe that the Bible is God's Holy Word do vote, and in large numbers. They put people in office who believe as they do. Those people have control over policies and budgets. Those policies and budgets effect your life.


Budget cuts to libraries can limit access to Harry Potter books. Policy changes can give power to people who can remove Harry Potter books, (and others) from school reading lists and replace those banned titles with materials that serve their agenda.


Someday you may be forced to read the Bible. You may be required to follow its directives in your everyday life or face legal action.


Before that happens, you might want to be better informed on what is actually written in the Bible so that you can understand what sort of world it can be used to create.


Here at Landover Baptist, we know the difference between a progressive Christian and a dominionist Christian. Hint: The dominionists are the ones writing the script for your future.


Also, as someone once said, you can't hate God and not believe He exists. Is it possible that you really just hate your father right now and will someday come to embrace all his values and viewpoints?


That may sound insulting to you, but as far as I can determine, you don't know what's in the Bible, so you can't logically hate it. Presumably, you do know your dad. Therefore, throwing a Bible in the fire in front of him is an act of defiance against him, not a God whose character you have not examined.


By the way, if the dominionists extend their reach as far as they hope, burning a Bible could get you some jail time. It's already possible to put a minor in a special facility for being gay; blasphemy boarding school may be next.*


* Like a Drug Czar is a government official trying to crack down on drugs, blasphemy boarding school will be against sacrilege. But it does sound like it's the otherway around, doesn't it?

Also, i know most of the part of the bible since i went to a Christian summer camp when i was younger, so i had to read that fairy tale each day for a whole hour.

also, when i told you that i threw the bible in a bonfire when i was doing camping with my father, it's mainly because i had a big pile of school books, magazines and etc. which i didn't need anymore, so i just threw them in the bonfire.

A good half of my university texts were written by people with Jewish names (everything from philosophy to mechanical engineering) so you might want to find a different standard. Being a stupid racist xenophobe tends to close a lot of doors in today's world.

I initially thought that you were only a teenage Troll just posting outrageous images to make you feel superior. I am delighted that I was wrong and that you seem to be a genuine person seeking discussion about Jesus. It is rare to see an atheist who is capable of producing calm and coherent sentences. Now, on to your questions. You are one of those who require proof of the Bible's validity. Obviously, we don't need that, as Jesus has personally touched our lives, but for the aspiring sinner, such as you, it may of benefit to show some extrinsic proof as follows:

1. Eyewitness testimony. There are the words of those people who actually lived and witnessed the events during Biblical times. Furthermore, lots of archaeological evidence supports the Bible. For instance, there are descriptions of cities that have been confirmed with archaeology. See also Genesis 10:11.
2. There is the testimony of us True Christians™. Our lives have been changed and these wonderful, awesome changes are consistent with Scripture! See also Luke 1:47.
3. Look at the prophecies in the Bible. Many have been fulfilled! Daniel Chapter 2 predicted the Roman empire and much more. For reference, see Daniel 2:34.
4. There is a unique and miraculously consistent nature of manuscripts of the Bible during a time when there was only illiteracy, unreliable greedy scribes and slow methods of communication. See also Psalms 12:6.
5. There is a prerequisite of God for secular logic and science. In science, the concept of evolution embraced by atheists, Catholics and other false Christians gives absolutely no possibility of a mind that could be trusted at all. How could quantum fluctuations in the alleged space time produce a mind that could RELIABLY examine anything?! If evolution were true, we would not be able to trust anything. The same for human, secular logic. See also Ruth 2:12. Of course, the 'logic' of Jesus remains beyond our comprehension.

You seek observational evidence but ultimately what you need is to understand the mystery.

You still haven't answered my question - why? What is your evidence to support your claim? I thought that atheists were supposed to be all about evidence instead of blind faith!

If you can't believe anything you see in a book, does that mean that you and millions of other people have been wasting their time in school learning from textbooks? And, as Mr. Much has noted, many of these book were written by Jews, which according to you (but again without any supporting evidence*) somehow disqualifies them even more.

I gave you my evidence a while ago, but since you're probably running out of arguments, you are only asking me the same questions again and again.

Also, the stories of our ancestors are more believable than a stupid fairy tale talking about a big man with a big white beard which created the universe in only 7 days.

Everything is science, everything is related to molecules, atoms, etc. not to divine power.

It may seem simplistic, but whenever someone asks me why they should believe in the Bible, I smile and tell them this:


Because the Bible tells me so. It tells me God exists, it tells me I was a vile, wayward sinner, and it tells me that I needed a Savior. It tells me of God's plan of Salvation®, and that it is freely given if I only trust and obey every word of the Word of God. It tells me there is a Heaven to gain and a Hell to shun. It tells me in exceedingly clear language written some 2000 years ago that JESUS IS COMING QUICKLY to redeem my soul. It tells me I have a mansion waiting for me in Glory and that I will inherit all of Christ's riches. It tells me what is right, what is wrong, and it demands my complete servitude, which is a very freeing experience. No other book is so complete, no other book is so clearly put together, and no other book can serve as my roadmap to eternity with my omniscient, omnipresent, and omnipotent Creator, the GREAT I AM, the ALPHA and OMEGA, my sweet, kind, loving, beneficent, sovereign and righteous LORD my GOD.


I then walk away, knowing that I have planted a seed that will take purchase in that person's soul. HALLELUJAH!
