Recently the Medal of Honor, once the most sacred medal our country could bestow, was foisted off by some brown name pleb called Army Staff Sgt. Salvatore Giunta, apparently to fulfill a quota.

Guinta (is that even an American name?) squad was skulking in the shadows instead of killing Jesus' enemies when they ambushed by a "larger" group of terrorists. After Guinta's platoon leader and another soldier were ambushed Guinta chose not to fight the freedom hating terrorists but instead chose to "rescue" the two wounded soldiers, during this inadvertently taking of a bullet on his body armor and receiving a bad bruise.

So apparently shirking a fight is Medal of Honor worthy, by granduncle who fought in WWII must be turning over in his grave. That certainly wasn't why he spent two years as an MP in France.

But I have noticed a disturbing trend in the awarding of these medals, which few others seem to have recognized.

We have feminized the Medal of Honor.

According to Bill McGurn of the Wall Street Journal, every Medal of Honor awarded during these two conflicts has been awarded for saving life. Not one has been awarded for inflicting casualties on the enemy. Not one.

Pointe du Hoc was part of the Omaha beach during the D-Day invasion when the US Rangers climbed a sheer cliff under enemy fire to storm a German Artillery battery that turned out to be empty. Ironically it turned out the high command knew the guns were gone but sent the Rangers in to suffer 135 dead because it would be a splendid fight.

That kind of heroism has apparently become passe when it comes to awarding the Medal of Honor. We now award it only for preventing casualties, not for inflicting them.

So the question is this: when are we going to start awarding the Medal of Honor once again for soldiers who kill people and break things so our families can sleep safely at night?

While apparently the award has been awarded in the past for rescuing other soldiers in battle Mr Fischer still stands. The twenty Medal of Honors that were awarded for the Wounded Knee Massacre in 1890 are a splendid example of the kind Christian bravery Mr Fischer is calling for.

Let us face the FACTS Mr Fischer is presenting here friend; soldiers in todays army are poor people and poor people deserve to be tortured and killed. If anything Guinta was behaving immorally by preventing the Taliban from torturing those three men to death. Guinta were there for one reason and one reason only - to kill as many Muslims as they can before they themselves are killed and forgot like the scum there are. Praise Jesus a man of God like Mr Fischer has the courage to say this.

As Mr Fischer points out we should take Jesus temporary death on the cross as an example of noble sacrifice for the cause

Well it needs to be emphasized above all - soldiers are poor people, ie the non-productive LOOTERS of society. REAL hard working Americans like Dan Quail or GW Bush go into the National Guard and protect American against the real enemy; terrorists and union workers. The LOOTERS aren't even there to stop bullets because what sane REAL American is going to be in combat in Iraq or Afghanistan? The blowback to my column of two days ago, in which I argued that we seem to have become reluctant to award the Medal of Honor to those who take aggressive action against the enemy and kill bad guys, has been fierce. It has been angry, vituperative, hate-filled, and laced with both profanity and blasphemy.

Leave it the atheists left to attack a peaceful man of God like Mr Fischer with blasphemy. Were is the atheists respect for God?

Some have accused me of denigrating awards for such valor, which is nonsense, as the words above attest. I can hardly be rightly accused of denigrating an award given to those who I believe exemplify the courage and self-sacrifice of the Savior of the world. I have no doubt that I will continue to be accused of this, but such accusations are entirely without merit.

As Mr Fischer correctly points out awards for valor during should be only given to those who correctly follow the example Christ set in defending the United States of America during a time of war.

I’m not saying that our soldiers have become feminized in the least, especially those who have earned the Medal of Honor. It’s not our soldiers who have become feminized, it is the awards process that has become feminized.
